Fuwawaa~♪ “Puppet Sunsun” Short Movie to Air on “Mezamashi TV”! The Healing Character is Causing a Buzz

It has been announced that the short movie "Puppet Sunsun" will begin airing on Fuji TV’s morning information program "Mezamashi TV" starting July 2, 2025. This marks the first time a puppet short movie will be broadcast within "Mezamashi TV" since the program began airing in April 1994.

"Puppet Sunsun" is a highly anticipated content featuring Sunsun, a character known for his fluffy blue body. The series follows the ordinary daily life of Sunsun, a 6-year-old boy living in the puppet country of Toohock, as he spends time with his best friend Nonnon and his grandpa Zonzon. These slice-of-life moments are shared as videos and manga on social media.

His adorable appearance and the healing videos have garnered significant attention, resulting in a total of over 2 million followers across social media platforms as of May 2025. Furthermore, the character is currently gaining immense popularity, especially among young people, having secured the 3rd spot in the "Favorite Character Ranking" chosen by high school students, which was announced in March of this year.

The upcoming "Puppet Sunsun" short movie will capture moments from Sunsun’s daily life. The entire production will be completely original, set in locations such as Sunsun and Nonnon’s secret base and a cabbage patch.

In anticipation of the movie’s broadcast on "Mezamashi TV" starting in July, Sunsun visited the program’s studio and greeted everyone, saying, "Nice to meet you, I’m Sunsun! Please treat me kindly!" As a new member joins the "Mezamashi Family," MC Inoue Seika commented, "I’m really looking forward to the Sunsun short movie." Sunsun excitedly replied, "Thank you! I’m really looking forward to it too!"

With over 2 million followers across social media platforms, dance videos viewed more than 10 million times in total, pop-up shops attracting long queues, and a string of successful corporate collaborations, Sunsun is a character whose popularity is exploding, particularly among the younger generation. We are thrilled that Sunsun will be joining "Mezamashi TV" starting in July.

Despite his busy schedule, he recently came to the studio to greet us. Seeing his fluffy blue body swaying completely charmed our cast and staff, including Ms. Inoue.
