Dandadan Season 2 Casts Yoshino Hiroyuki as Manjirou & Oozora Naomi as Chikiita! Pre-screening Event with Wakayama Shion, Hanae Natsuki, and Tanaka Mayumi Also Announced!
The second season of the TV anime Dandadan is scheduled to start broadcasting on July 3, 2025, airing on the MBS/TBS 28 networks’ “Super Animeism TURBO” block. It has now been revealed that Yoshino Hiroyuki will join the cast as Manjirou and Oozora Naomi as Chikiita.
Furthermore, a pre-screening event featuring appearances by Wakayama Shion, Hanae Natsuki, and Tanaka Mayumi has been decided for June 29 in Tokyo.
Dandadan is an occultic battle and coming-of-age story based on the manga by Ryuu Yukinobu, serialized on Shueisha’s “Shounen Jump+” app with over 10 million copies in circulation. The story follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult maniac. After encountering overwhelmingly strange phenomena, or kaiki, that defy understanding, they gain hidden powers and cursed abilities. They use these powers to challenge the encroaching kaiki while also getting wrapped up in a fated romance. The first season of the TV anime aired from October to December 2024 and proved very popular.
For the second season of the series, additional cast members Yoshino Hiroyuki and Oozora Naomi have been announced. Yoshino will play Manjirou, the priest of a shrine dedicated to the “Tsuchinoko”. In reality, the shrine venerates the shed skin of a giant serpent from local serpent worship traditions. Manjirou himself has the ambition of becoming a “BooTuber”.

Meanwhile, Oozora will voice Chikiita, the son of the Dover Demon, also known as the Shrimp Alien. Chikiita required daily intake of fresh blood but was saved by Hoshiko and others who provided it. He currently lives on Earth with his father. High expectations are set for how Manjirou and Chikiita will get involved with Momo, Okarun, and the others.

Also, a pre-screening event will be held on June 29 at United Cinemas Toyosu in Tokyo. Episodes 13 through 15, which continue from Season 1, will be screened, followed by a stage greeting with Wakayama Shion (voicing Momo), Hanae Natsuki (voicing Okarun), and Tanaka Mayumi (voicing Turbo Baabaa), who will talk about Dandadan. The 12th episode ended on a note that left fans wanting more, with Okarun and Jiji arriving at Jiji’s house and finding a room plastered with talismans… Don’t miss this pre-screening event to see the continuation early.

The TV anime Dandadan Season 2 will premiere on July 3, 2025, broadcasting nationwide simultaneously every Thursday late night at 0:26 JST on the MBS/TBS 28 networks’ “Super Animeism TURBO” block. Look forward to further announcements!
