The TV anime Kowloon Generic Romance, which has been airing on TV Tokyo and other networks since April 2025, is getting a Blu-ray BOX release!
It has been announced that the Blu-ray BOX (containing all 13 episodes) will be released on September 24th, available in two forms: a Special Limited Edition and a Complete Limited Edition. The Complete Limited Edition, which comes with a “Kowloon Special Shuimai Set,” also includes a booklet featuring new manga drawn by the original author, Mayuzuki Jun, and the original soundtrack, among other goodies.
TV anime Kowloon Generic Romance is the latest work by Mayuzuki Jun, the author of “Koi wa Ameagari no You ni” (After the Rain). It is currently serialized in Shueisha’s “Weekly Young Jump” and has surpassed 1.5 million copies in cumulative circulation. This manga serves as the original work for this intriguing mystery and romance story.
Set in the nostalgic streets of Kowloon Walled City, the story follows Kujirai Reiko, who works at a real estate agency. She holds a quiet affection for her senior colleague, Kudo Hatsuru. One day, Reiko stumbles upon a photograph and discovers that Kudo previously had an fiancee who looked exactly like her. What is the truth behind her lost memories, the identity of this other self, and the huge secret hidden within the city of Kowloon? As the past, present, and future intersect, love begins to unravel the mystery.

The currently airing TV anime features Shiraishi Haruka as Kujirai Reiko and Sugita Tomokazu as Kudo Hatsuru. In addition, a live-action film adaptation is scheduled for release in August, starring Yoshioka Riho as Kujirai Reiko and Mizukami Koushi as Kudo Hatsuru in a double lead role.
