Get ready for more romantic comedy chaos! The TV anime second season, titled Kakko no Iinazuke Season2, based on Yoshikawa Miki’s manga, is set to begin airing and streaming on TOKYO MX, BS Nittele, and other channels starting July 8, 2025. Along with this exciting news, a key visual and the main promotional video have been unveiled. Furthermore, it has been announced that the opening theme song will be “Kimi ga Kureta Mono” sung by asmi, and a comment from the artist has also arrived.
Kakko no Iinazuke is a “life-crossing love comedy” that begins with a “mixed-up babies” scenario, originally serialized in Kodansha’s “Weekly Shonen Magazine” by Yoshikawa Miki. The story follows the chaotic and mismatched daily lives of Umino Nagi and Amano Erika, who were switched at birth as infants but later become engaged through their families’ arrangement and end up living together. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to October 2022. The latest volume of the original manga, Volume 28, is scheduled to be released on June 17.
The highly anticipated second season, Kakko no Iinazuke Season2, will officially start its broadcast and streaming run on TOKYO MX, BS Nittele, and other networks from July 8, 2025. It will also be available for simultaneous terrestrial broadcast and fastest streaming on ABEMA and d Anime Store.
Accompanying this announcement is the reveal of a vibrant new key visual. This visual features the new character, Mochizuki Ai, whose birthday happens to be today, June 11, alongside the familiar trio of Amano Erika, Segawa Hiro, and Umino Sachi, as well as the protagonist, Umino Nagi. The existing love square involving Nagi with his fiancée, his crush, and his non-blood-related little sister is now joined by his childhood friend from his first love, transforming the dynamic into a sprawling love pentagon! Anticipation is certainly building for how their intertwined destinies will unfold.
The main promotional video offers a sneak peek at the animation produced by Okuruto Noboru, allowing fans to hear the characters’ voices ahead of the broadcast. Pay close attention to the video to also hear the opening theme, “Kimi ga Kureta Mono,” performed by asmi, which is unveiled within the PV. A special comment from asmi regarding the theme song has also been shared.
Additionally, to commemorate the upcoming broadcast of Season 2, ABEMA has decided to hold a marathon streaming event for Season 1. This is a perfect opportunity to look back on the events of the first season before diving into the new one.
The TV anime second season of Kakko no Iinazuke, Kakko no Iinazuke Season2, is scheduled to begin airing and streaming on TOKYO MX, BS Nittele, and other channels from July 8, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates as the broadcast date approaches!

I am thrilled to be in charge of the opening theme for Season 2 with “Kimi ga Kureta Mono”. Love can sometimes twist a heart that was once straightforward. When the magic that feels almost like a curse is lifted, what remains? I wrote my own kind of love song, set to a fast-paced rock sound perfect for summer! I am genuinely happy to be involved with Kakko no Iinazuke in this way. I hope this song can powerfully color the lives of the five main characters and your own story!
