From Pages to Screen: The Original Story
Just like its predecessor, **Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi Ni** is based on the popular fantasy gourmet light novel series penned by **Yuuma Midori** and featuring illustrations by **Laruha**. This delightful series first began captivating readers under Fujimi Shobo’s Fujimi L Bunko imprint back in April 2015. The original light novel run concluded with its 12th volume, which was released in March 2022.
The captivating tale has also inspired multiple manga adaptations. The first, illustrated by **Ioka Waco**, started serializing in B’s-LOG Comic magazine in April 2016, with its 11th volume hitting shelves in November 2024. More recently, a second manga adaptation by **Toba Tsugaru** kicked off in Monthly Shounen Sirius in January 2023, with its eighth volume published on April 30.
For international fans, VIZ Media has been busy releasing the first manga adaptation in English since licensing it in 2018. They released the tenth volume on March 11 and plan to release the 11th volume on January 13.
