Kimura Ryohei Joins the Fray! MARO17 Anime CM Third Installment by MAPPA Featuring Hosoya Yoshimasa & Miyano Mamoru Released
NatureLab’s men’s care brand “MARO17” is set to release a new anime commercial on July 1, 2025. This exciting third installment of the “MARO17” anime TV CM series is produced by the renowned studio MAPPA, known for hit anime like *Jujutsu Kaisen*, *Shingeki no Kyojin The Final Season*, and *Chainsaw Man*. Adding to the dynamic production, the CM features voice actors Hosoya Yoshimasa and Miyano Mamoru, with Kimura Ryohei joining the cast for this new entry. The music is a special collaboration between Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra and TK (Rin Toshite Shigure), resulting in a track specifically written for this CM. The previous installments have already received international advertising awards, setting high expectations for this new chapter.

The collaboration between MARO17 and animation studio MAPPA began with the first anime TV CM, “Utakata feat. TETSU” Arc, followed by the second, “Mada, Akirametenai daro?” Arc. Their stunning visual artistry and unique direction have been widely praised. The first installment even won a Bronze award in the FILMCRAFT LOTUS division at the “ADFEST 2024 (Asia Pacific Advertising Festival)” in March 2024 and a Bronze in the Animation (2D) division at the “shots Awards Asia Pacific 2024” in October of the same year.
This time, the new “Do Atama kara Kimeyou ze.” Arc CM, the third installment in the anime TV CM series that has received these prestigious awards, will be released. The story begins when Tetsu, a down-on-his-luck private detective, receives a mysterious child along with an unsigned letter one day. Accepting the task of guarding the child, Tetsu sets out for the letter’s destination alongside Sakuchiyo and Shimon.

However, led by the enigmatic number “17”, they find themselves embroiled in unsettling incidents at every turn. What deep secret does the number “17” conceal, and what fate awaits them? The CM promises a refreshing story unfolding through the interactions of Tetsu, voiced by Hosoya Yoshimasa; Sakuchiyo, voiced by Miyano Mamoru; and the newly introduced character Shimon, voiced by Kimura Ryohei.
The theme song for this CM is once again handled by Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, building on their work in the previous installment. This time, a groundbreaking collaboration with TK (Rin Toshite Shigure) has been realized, resulting in the brand new song “Closed Archive VS. TK (Rin Toshite Shigure)”, specially composed for this CM. The music masterfully encapsulates the world of the story, and listeners should also pay close attention to the lyrics, which are cleverly sprinkled with items that appear within the narrative.

The new anime CM for MARO17, featuring voice actors Hosoya Yoshimasa, Miyano Mamoru, and Kimura Ryohei, from NatureLab’s men’s care brand, will be released starting July 1. To celebrate the launch, a prize campaign requiring viewers to answer a quiz will also be held, so be sure to check that out as well.
Comments from the Cast and Staff
Kimura Ryohei

The first time I saw this work was during Hosoya-san’s birthday event. It’s a world that, more than anything, makes me imagine what lies beyond the camera! No, perhaps it’s even more than that, as I can’t fully imagine it! In such wonderful visuals, exceptional characters and actors were weaving a story. And these items that appear are real?! It’s that thing we all love, where you can use the items that appear in the story and are loved by the characters yourself. How awesome is that?? In this third installment, a character I voice, Shimon, appears, and the story unfolds further. Please enjoy it with your MARO17 in hand.
Miyano Mamoru

Continuing from last time, I’m participating in the “MARO17” CM as the role of Sakuchiyo. The quality of the visuals is amazing again this time! Moreover, since it’s styled like a movie trailer, I can’t help but be curious about the truth of this story! The bold character of the new character Shimon also adds a new essence that greatly enlivens the work. Working with Ryohei-kun was fun because the relationship between our characters, who are childhood friends, fits us very well! Please look forward to this CM, full of adult coolness!
Hosoya Yoshimasa

I am Hosoya Yoshimasa, who is in charge of Tetsu’s voice. I’ve been told that this CM was created to make viewers feel “curious about what happens next” and “want to see the main story” like a movie preview. What kind of main story will there be? Will there even be a main story? I don’t know yet (laughs), but I hope you enjoy the drama of the charming characters. Thank you.

In the third “MARO17” CM, we aimed to create it based on the motif of a “movie trailer.” We condensed the worldview and charm of the three unique characters – Tetsu, Sakuchiyo, and Shimon – into a short video. We hope you can enjoy imagining their relationships and the story as if you were watching a feature film.
Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra – Yanaka Atsushi

Collaborating with TK-san in the VS. series this time is something that I believe will gain even greater meaning for us as time goes on. Honestly, I couldn’t imagine it before creating the song. That’s why I was so excited. Seeing TK-san’s unique talent, which ordinarily doesn’t easily blend with others, mix into our music one after another due to his wonderful personality was truly moving. I am truly full of gratitude. Thank you very much!
(Regarding the lyrics for “Closed Archive”)
Entropy is about things scattering. I began writing the lyrics from the perspective that this scattering would eventually cause even consciousness to uniformly disperse like desert sand. Then, I continued writing while envisioning the charming characters created by MAPPA-san in the MARO17 CM.
If you try to shut out and become isolated from everyday life, which is scattering and thinning out, entropy will actually increase. In reality, the chaos created by your friends is the fluctuation that becomes the order for tomorrow. Friendship is the gravity that stops the loneliness that would otherwise be dismantled in zero gravity and scatter into the universe.
What gave birth to life in this world was bias and fluctuation. That is why resisting values that are wearing away—that very act—is, I believe, the fundamental meaning of “living.”
Biased thoughts, ambivalent fluctuations, and a chaotic beauty that resists analysis. These unstable things are what desperately connect us human beings and create new order. Young people who resonated with biased values that were not understood by society in the past are the ones who have changed the tide of the times. And I believe this should continue to be the case.
The “Closed Archive,” so to speak, nurtured by each generation as if refusing connection with the world. I believe that precisely this is the treasure that has shaped humanity.
