Summer Anime “Tougen Anki”: Shiki (CV: Ura Kazuki), Heir to Oni Blood, Learns He’s Targeted by the “Momotaro Kikan”… Episode 1 Advance Cuts
Advance scene cuts and the synopsis for the first episode, “Oni no Chi,” of the summer anime Tougen Anki, which begins broadcasting on Friday, July 11th, 2025, have been released.
About the Anime: Tougen Anki
Based on the manga by Uruushibara Yuura, serialized in “Weekly Shounen Champion” with over 4 million copies in circulation, Tougen Anki is a thrilling new generation dark hero tale about demons. The story is inspired by the universally known Japanese folktale “Momotaro” and depicts the intense conflict between those who carry the blood of demons and those who inherit the lineage of Momotaro.
Studio Hibari is handling the animation production, with Nonaka Ato serving as director, Sugawara Yukie on series composition and script, Amisaki Ryouko as character designer, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO composing the music. The main character, Ichinose Shiki, is voiced by Ura Kazuki, while the instructor at Rasetsu Gakuen, Mudano Mujin, is voiced by Kamiya Hiroshi, and Shiki’s classmate, Kougazaki Jin, is voiced by Nishiyama Koutarou. THE ORAL CIGARETTES performs the opening theme song, and BAND-MAID is in charge of the ending theme song.

Episode 1 “Oni no Chi” Synopsis
Prepare for the intense beginning of Tougen Anki! The first episode, titled “Oni no Chi” (Demon’s Blood), sets the stage for the dramatic events to come.
Ichinose Shiki is suddenly attacked by unknown assailants. While escaping with his adoptive father, Takeshi, he is told a shocking secret about his birth. In fact, Shiki is a being who inherits the blood of a “demon” and is being targeted by the “Momotaro Kikan,” those who carry the blood of “Momotaro.”
However, having lived his life as a completely normal human until now, Shiki is bewildered and struggles to accept Takeshi’s words. To make matters worse, he is captured by a Momotaro pursuer named Momoya Mayusame.
Takeshi, who was once affiliated with the Momotaro Kikan, confronts Mayusame. Using the power of the Momotaro, which manipulates black bacteria to create a great sword, Takeshi fights to retrieve his son. However, after a fierce battle, he is defeated. Witnessing this horrifying sight, Shiki loses himself in rage, awakening his demonic power and going berserk.
