About Kimetsu no Yaiba
Kimetsu no Yaiba is an anime based on the manga by Gotouge Koyoharu, published by Shueisha in “Jump Comics”. The manga series spans 23 volumes and has achieved a cumulative circulation exceeding 150 million copies. The story follows the journey of Kamado Tanjiro, a young boy whose family is brutally murdered by a demon. His sister, Nezuko, is the sole survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon. To return Nezuko to human form, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps and throws himself into a perilous battle against demons. The series has captured hearts with its poignant tale of humans and demons, intense sword action, charming characters, and occasional comedic moments.
The Anime Series & Upcoming Movie
Produced by the animation studio ufotable, the anime adaptation began with “TV Anime Kimetsu no Yaiba Kamado Tanjiro Risshi Hen” in April 2019 and has since expanded into a full series. Following the recent broadcast of “TV Anime Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Geiko Hen” in May 2024, the next chapter in the saga, “Gekijouban Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugenjou Hen” (which can be translated as “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie – Infinite Castle Arc”), is being produced as a three-part film project. The first chapter, “Daisshou Akaza Sairai” (First Chapter: Akaza’s Return), is set to premiere on July 18, 2025. Set in the “Mugenjou” (Infinite Castle), the demons’ stronghold where Tanjiro and his companions fall, the film will ignite the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons.
Exciting New Merchandise!
Exciting new items featuring characters like Kamado Tanjiro and Rengoku Kyoujurou have been created: the “Kyo Rosoku” and “Ani-Scent Okou (Incense Sticks)”.
First up is the “Kyo Rosoku Kiribako Iri 5-pon Set”. “Kyo Rosoku” are traditional Japanese candles made entirely from plant-based ingredients, including the wax and wick. This makes them environmentally friendly and results in less soot when burning. Their large, slowly flickering orange flame is warm, pure, and truly soothing for the soul. The candles feature hand-painted designs and detailed UV printing by skilled artisans, showcasing traditional Japanese techniques and beauty. These are truly exquisite “MADE IN JAPAN” items, where the craftsmanship is evident in every detail.
The Kimetsu no Yaiba “Kyo Rosoku” are designed with motifs from the series. The set includes designs featuring the Demon Slayer Corps’ “滅” (destruction) mark, Kamado Tanjiro’s name along with his Nichirin Blade’s tsuba (handguard) and haori (jacket) pattern, and Rengoku Kyoujurou’s name alongside his Nichirin Blade’s tsuba and flame pattern. They are designed to be beautiful decorative items just as they are. Each candle is approximately 7.5cm long. The price for the set is 16,478 JPY (including tax).
“Ani-Scent Okou (Incense Sticks)” are so popular that they are currently on a second limited quantity order. There are a total of 11 types available, featuring characters like Kamado Tanjiro and Rengoku Kyoujurou. Each scent is carefully crafted to express the unique characteristics of the featured character.
“Ani-Scent” is an original series from AMNIBUS that aims to express a new lifestyle of “spending time with characters” through the power of “scent”.
Character Scents
Here’s a look at the delightful scents inspired by the characters:
* Kamado Tanjiro: A relaxing scent reminiscent of the forest near the Kamado home. Tea tree, which has the flower language of “strong ally,” and Igusa (rush grass), meaning “firm belief,” express the strength and kindness of Kamado Tanjiro as he grows within the Demon Slayer Corps. The scent image is “Igusa x Tea Tree.”
* Kamado Nezuko: A calming scent like a flower field in the night forest. Jasmine, which expresses the cuteness of Kamado Nezuko who is active at night, and Igusa, meaning “firm belief,” express her strength. The scent image is “Igusa x Jasmine.”
* Tomioka Giyuu: A clear, transparent green scent like quiet water. Adding Petitgrain to translucent Mint expresses Tomioka Giyuu’s refined fighting style. The scent image is “Mint x Petitgrain.”
* Kochou Shinobu: A scent that feels like a gentle heart standing in a flower garden where butterflies dance. Based on the scent of Tulip, which has the flower language of “consideration” but is also a poisonous plant, combined with the scent of other flowers, this expresses Kochou Shinobu’s gentleness and her fighting spirit. * Rengoku Kyoujurou: A warm scent that gives warmth and energy. Yuzu and Lavender, which have a circulation-promoting effect and make you feel warm, express the warmth and kindness of Rengoku Kyoujurou, the Flame Hashira. The scent image is “Yuzu x Lavender.”
* Uzui Tengen: A sensual, manly atmosphere scent. Combined with Bergamot, often used in men’s perfumes, the gorgeous scent of Pomegranate expresses Uzui Tengen’s flashy fighting style. The scent image is “Bergamot x Pomegranate.”
* Kanroji Mitsuri: A scent featuring the popping juiciness of Lychee within sweetness. Lychee, with the flower language of “joy of love,” and the sweet, fragrant scent of “honey” express Kanroji Mitsuri’s excitement and happiness. The scent image is “Honey x Lychee.”
* Tokitou Muichirou: A scent that feels like drifting mist with the faint, quiet aroma of Tachibana (mandarin orange) and the refreshing scent of green tea. * Shinazugawa Sanemi: A spicy and vigorous scent. Ylang-ylang and Sage, which help to uplift spirits, express Shinazugawa Sanemi’s rough fighting style. The scent image is “Ylang-ylang x Sage.”
The “Ani-Scent Okou (Incense Sticks)” are approximately 14cm long and have a burn time of about 25 minutes per stick. Each box contains 40 sticks and costs 2,750 JPY (including tax). Matching “Ani-Scent Stick Incense Holders” are also available for each character.
