Giant Advertising Takes Over Shinjuku and Ikebukuro Stations for “Gekijouban ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou: Akaza Rairai”
Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou: Akaza Rairai is set to premiere on July 18, 2025. To commemorate this exciting release, large-scale advertisements have begun appearing at JR stations in Tokyo. At JR Shinjuku Station, an unprecedented “Kimetsu Gate” advertisement with a “demon” theme has appeared at the East Exit. Meanwhile, at JR Ikebukuro Station, the wall in front of the North Ticket Gate has been taken over by a “Kimetsu WALL” advertisement featuring posters for the first time, running continuously for one month.
Kimetsu no Yaiba is an anime based on the manga by Gotouge Koyoharu, serialized in Shueisha’s “Weekly Shounen Jump”. The manga has surpassed a cumulative circulation of 150 million copies across its 23 volumes. The story follows Kamado Tanjirou, a young boy whose family is murdered by demons. He joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his sister, Kamado Nezuko, who has been turned into a demon, back into a human and fight against the demons. The series captivates audiences with its poignant tale of humans and demons, breathtaking sword action, compelling characters, and occasional moments of comedy.
The anime adaptation, produced by ufotable, began its series run with “TV Anime ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Kamado Tanjirou Risshi-hen” in April 2019. Following the “TV Anime ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Hashira Geiko-hen” which aired from May 2024, the story continues with “Gekijouban ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Mugenjou-hen”. This theatrical adaptation will be produced as a three-part series, with “Dai Isshou: Akaza Rairai” opening on July 18, 2025. Set in the Demon’s stronghold, the Mugenjou (Infinity Castle), where Tanjirou and his companions have fallen, the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the Demons is about to begin.
