About the Anime: Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru
Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru, which can be translated as My Dress-Up Darling, is a heartwarming “Cos-Kyun Story” based on the manga by Fukuda Shinichi. This manga has captivated readers, surpassing 13 million copies in circulation across Square Enix’s “Young Gangan” and “Manga UP!” platforms. The story beautifully portrays the developing relationship between two seemingly opposite high school students: Gojou Shinna, a shy male student aspiring to be a “kashirashi” (a craftsman who makes the heads for Hina dolls), who struggles to fit in and keep up with trends, and Kitagawa Marin, a vivacious and popular girl who is the life of the class. Their fateful encounter sparks a deep friendship as they bond over their shared passion for cosplay.
The anime adaptation first graced screens with Season 1 from January to March 2022. Now, after a three-year anticipation, the much-awaited Season 2 is currently airing, continuing the delightful journey. Both Marin-chan and Shinna-kun are still brimming with ideas for new cosplays and costumes they want to create.
