August 19th marks “World Photography Day”. This commemorative day is tied to the daguerreotype, a pioneering photographic method that was unveiled in 1839.
In recent years, it has become increasingly common for voice actors to release photo books. These publications are brimming with individuality and creative flair, often showcasing candid, natural off-shots rarely seen by the public, alongside captivating location shoots both within Japan and abroad, and even self-produced concepts.
Following this trend, Anime! Anime! conducted its much-anticipated annual reader survey titled “Which Voice Actor Do You Want to Release a Photo Book?”. We gathered responses from 184 participants during the survey period, which ran from July 31st to August 6th. The demographic breakdown showed a majority of female respondents, accounting for approximately 70 percent compared to 30 percent male. The age distribution was largely centered around younger generations, with roughly 30 percent being under 19 and 25 percent in their 20s.

Captivated by Smiles and Poses!
First Place
The top spot goes to Hanazawa Kana-san!
Hanazawa Kana-san continues to charm audiences by portraying main characters in a multitude of works this year, including `Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de`, `Ninja to Koroshiya no Futari Gurashi`, and `Eiga Odekake Kozame to Kai no Otomodachi`. Her impressive career extends beyond voice acting; she is active across a wide array of media, with numerous photo books and photobooks to her name, and even making appearances on terrestrial variety shows. Fans expressed their affection with comments such as, “I love not only her adorable voice but also her candid, natural smiles. She always brings me such comfort and healing,” and “The gravure shots featured in her radio official guidebook were fantastic. I’ve been a dedicated fan for a long time.”
Second Place
Taking second place is Hayami Saori-san.
Hayami Saori-san has lent her voice to an incredibly diverse array of titles, including `Mahou Tsukai Precure!! ~MIRAI DAYS~`, `Ame to Kimi to`, and `Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou: Akaza Sairai`. While a photo book from her has yet to be announced, eager fans submitted heartfelt requests. Comments included, “She showed off so many different poses on her Instagram account, which she launched this year, and it was truly delightful to see,” and “The cover of ‘Seiyuu Grandprix’ September issue was utterly captivating, from her expressions to her poses. Given that it’s her 10th anniversary as an artist, we’d absolutely love to see a memorial book released!”
Third Place
Securing third place is Itou Miku-san.
Itou Miku-san has also graced many popular titles with her talent, such as `Go-Toubun no Hanayome*` and `Ishura`. Her future engagements are already lined up, with confirmed appearances in upcoming works like `Mayonaka Heart Tune` and `Tensei Shitara Dragon no Tamago Datta`. Like her fellow voice actors, Itou-san has also released multiple photo books and photobooks, and she recently adorned the cover of this year’s ‘Seiyuu Grandprix’ August issue. Fans shared their admiration, with comments like, “I find myself utterly spellbound with every flip of the page,” and “I just absolutely adore her. Micchan always fills me with energy!”
The female voice actor edition of the survey showcased a fascinating and diverse group of talented individuals who ranked highly. It’s particularly noteworthy how many of the prominent voice actors are also active as successful solo artists.
