Revival Screening Announced for “Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle-” Film!
The highly anticipated film Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle-, affectionately known as HypMuvi, is set to return to theaters for a special anniversary revival screening! This exciting event will kick off on September 2, 2025, which marks the 8th anniversary of the Hypnosis Mic project, and will be shown in 66 theaters across Japan.
Hypnosis Mic is a groundbreaking music-based character rap project that first launched in September 2017. The project captivates audiences with its vibrant cast of 18 distinctive main characters, who are divided into six unique teams: Ikebukuro Division, Yokohama Division, Shibuya Division, Shinjuku Division, Osaka Division, and Nagoya Division. These divisions engage in fierce and exhilarating rap battles, showcasing their powerful lyrical skills.
What makes Hypnosis Mic truly stand out is the collaboration with leading rappers and trackmakers from Japan’s hip-hop scene, who contribute as creators to the project’s compelling rap music. Voice actors not only portray their characters but also perform these dynamic tracks, allowing each character’s story to unfold vividly through song. With its strong character-driven music and rich audio dramas, Hypnosis Mic has successfully expanded into various media, including manga, mobile games, stage plays, and anime, creating a sprawling universe for fans to enjoy.
Its first film adaptation, HypMuvi, is renowned as Japan’s first “interactive movie,” where the outcome of the on-screen rap battles is determined by audience participation via a dedicated smartphone app. Viewers can cast their votes a total of five times during the screening, leading to an incredible 48 possible screening patterns and 7 distinct endings! This innovative approach offers a truly dynamic and personalized experience for every audience member. The film originally premiered on February 21st of this year and achieved an impressive milestone, surpassing 1.9 billion yen in box office revenue.
To celebrate this special revival, new exclusive visitor benefits have been announced! Fans attending the screenings will receive highly coveted clear cards featuring newly drawn illustrations by Kazui, the character designer for Hypnosis Mic.

- For the “Buster Bros!!! & Bad Ass Temple” performance on October 4th (Sat) at 17:40, tickets will begin selling sequentially from September 26th (Fri) 24:00 (which is September 27th (Sat) 0:00) at each theater.
