The summer anime `Jigoku Sensei Nuu~bee~` has unveiled the synopsis and advance cuts for its highly anticipated ninth episode, titled “Shiawase o Hakobu Shojo” (The Girl Who Brings Happiness), set to air on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

About Jigoku Sensei Nuu~bee~

Based on the occultic hero action manga with an impressive cumulative circulation of 29 million copies, `Jigoku Sensei Nuu~bee~` was originally serialized in `Shuukan Shounen Janpu` (Weekly Shonen Jump) from 1993 to 1999, with original work by Makura Sho and manga by Okano Takeshi. This new anime adaptation brings the beloved story to a new generation.

The series captivated readers with its thrilling tales inspired by school ghost stories and urban legends. Yet, it was the courageous figure of Nueno Meisuke, affectionately known as “Nuu~bee~,” the spiritualist teacher who risked his life to protect his students from the threats of yokai and evil spirits, that garnered widespread popularity across generations. Beyond its initial TV anime adaptation from 1996 to 1997, the franchise has seen theatrical anime films and OVA productions, and even a live-action TV drama adaptation starring Maruyama Ryuhei in 2014.

Episode 9: “Shiawase o Hakobu Shojo” Synopsis

In this upcoming episode, Nuu~bee~ encounters a small girl in the town, who turns out to be a `Zashiki Warashi`, a yokai believed to bring good fortune to people. The `Zashiki Warashi` quickly takes a liking to Nuu~bee~ and even follows him to school. From that day on, unexpected good luck begins to grace his classmates, one after another.

However, as Nuu~bee~ observes his students gradually forgetting their efforts and becoming overly reliant on this newfound luck, he finds himself in a difficult position. With a heavy heart, he must bid farewell to the `Zashiki Warashi`…

Episode 9, “Shiawase o Hakobu Shojo”, of the summer anime `Jigoku Sensei Nuu~bee~` will air on Wednesday, August 27, at 23:51 JST, on the TV Asahi network’s “IMAnimation W” slot across Japan. Additionally, “ABEMA” will offer a free broadcast of the latest episode every Wednesday at 25:00 JST (effectively Thursday 1:00 JST). Furthermore, free streaming of the latest episode will be available for one week starting from 24:15 JST (effectively Saturday 0:15 JST) every Saturday, three days after the initial broadcast.
