As the Summer 2025 anime season heads towards its climax, anticipation is building for the upcoming Fall releases.
The Fall season is known for having a high number of new shows, second only to Spring. This year, too, boasts a rich variety of titles. So, what are the works that Anime! Anime! readers are most excited about?
To find out, Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “Which Fall 2025 Anime Are You Most Looking Forward To?” We received 496 responses during the survey period from September 18th to September 23rd.
The gender ratio was nearly even, with approximately 55 percent male and 45 percent female respondents. The age distribution showed a strong focus on younger demographics, with around 30 percent being under 19 and 20 percent in their 20s.

■ Hot Anticipation for Popular Series Sequels!
First Place
Coming in at 1st place is Boku no Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, garnering approximately 10 percent of the votes.
Boku no Hero Academia (also known as *My Hero Academia*) is based on a hero action manga serialized in “Weekly Shounen Jump”. The story is set in a world where people possessing supernatural abilities called “Quirks” are commonplace, following protagonist Midoriya Izuku as he grows at Yuuei Koukou, a prestigious school for hero training.
Many passionate long-time fans expressed their anticipation for the TV anime’s final arc, FINAL SEASON, which marks its 8th installment: “After following ‘Hiroaka’ since its first season in 2016, it’s finally concluding… I’m really sad to see it go. My heart swelled when I heard that the opening theme is by Porno Graffitti, just like the first season,” and “While I don’t want it to end, I’m also excited to see the unique anime-exclusive direction and the voice actors’ performances. I’ll watch Midoriya Izuku’s (Deku’s) heroic journey until the very end.”
The promotional video itself is building high expectations, with comments like: “The PV features students from Yuuei Koukou, of course, but also Hawks and Lady Nagant, and Kouta-kun gently holding Eri-chan’s hand was particularly striking. I’m rooting for all of their battles!”
Second Place
Securing 2nd place is SPY×FAMILY Season 3, trailing the top spot by just a few votes.
SPY×FAMILY is a spy action-comedy currently serialized on “Shounen Jump+”. The story follows the master spy Tasogare (Twilight), who, for a top-secret mission, masquerades as psychiatrist Loid Forger. He forms a temporary family with Anya, a telepath capable of reading minds, and Yor, a skilled assassin. Together, they fight for world peace while keeping their true identities hidden from each other.
Readers eagerly commented: “I can’t wait for the day I can see the Forger family again. It seems like there will be many interesting episodes, like why Loid became Tasogare!” and “Watching the PV, I was surprised, thinking ‘They’re really going that far?!’ I really want to see it animated soon!” It’s clear that even fans who have read the original manga are highly anticipating the new season.
Its unique promotions are also generating buzz, with one fan noting: “The new visual prediction illustrations by the cast, which were held on the official X (formerly Twitter) account, were hilarious.”
Third Place
And in 3rd place is Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi 2, with approximately 9 percent of the support.
Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi is an isekai summoning fantasy novel that began serialization on “Shousetsuka ni Narou” and is currently published as a novel by “Overlap Novels”. The story follows Mukouda, a salaryman summoned to another world, who embarks on an adventure using his unique “Net Super” skill, allowing him to order modern-day food and ingredients.
Fans praised the delicious-looking food depicted in the series and the heartwarming interactions with his companions, commenting: “Seeing real-life brand foods and seasonings appear in the story made me think, ‘I never would have imagined that!’ It even made me interested in the original novel and manga adaptation,” and “The animation of the food is so superb it makes my stomach rumble. The party’s atmosphere is also so laid-back and comforting, making it easy to enjoy. I’m eagerly awaiting the new season, already hungry!”
■ Introducing Other Exciting Comments!
For 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei, a fan commented: “I love Gintama and have read all the novelizations. While there have been short anime as bonuses for the main series, I’m thrilled that it’s finally being broadcast as a standalone work!”
Regarding Kao ni Denai Kashiwada-san to Kao ni Deru Oota-kun, a reader shared: “It’s an adorable yet frustrating romantic comedy about the perpetually expressionless Kashiwada-san and Oota-kun, whose face instantly reveals his embarrassment and impatience. I can’t wait to see what kind of interactions these two will show us!”
For Shabake, a fan exclaimed: “This historical mystery, which I discovered and became a fan of through NHK’s radio drama, is finally getting an anime adaptation! The 2-hour live-action drama was also great, so I have high hopes for the TV anime!”
And for Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Hajimari no Monogatari/Eien no Monogatari TV Edition, a voter said: “It’s a rather rare pattern to re-edit the theatrical compilation films of the TV series for broadcast. Since this work is known for its unpredictable developments, I’m incredibly curious to see what kind of content it will offer.” Votes were also cast for this title, which has a new movie coming out soon.
This Fall 2025 anime anticipation survey clearly shows that sequels to popular series are standing out. Fans’ comments prominently feature discussions about the culmination of long-loved works and their excitement for new arcs.
Anime! Anime! also plans to conduct a survey titled “Which Work Do You ‘Oshi’ the Most Right Now?” after the initial broadcasts have concluded.
