In 2025, Sports Day falls on October 13th.
This national holiday, once affectionately known as “Taiiku no Hi” (Health and Sports Day), was officially rebranded to its current name in 2020. The date itself also shifted from October 10th to the second Monday of October, offering a bit more flexibility for celebrations.
Sports are an incredibly popular and enduring genre in the world of anime. From familiar and beloved competitions like baseball and soccer to more niche sports rarely seen in daily life, and even imaginative, fictional athletic endeavors unique to certain series, anime has masterfully depicted a diverse spectrum of sports.
That’s why Anime!Anime! is thrilled to announce that we are once again conducting our popular reader survey, titled “What’s your favorite sports anime?”, following last year’s successful run. We invite all our readers to share their top picks in a free-form answer format.

*Please note: This survey covers characters appearing in 2D content, including anime works (TV broadcasts, movies, streaming, OVA, etc.), games, CD series, and manga.
*Kindly limit your responses to one submission per person.
Basic information such as gender and age are entirely optional, so feel free to leave them blank if you prefer. Everyone is encouraged to participate!
The deadline for submissions is October 8th. We will eagerly compile and release the results as soon as they are ready, so please look forward to it!
