About Watashi wo Tabeta-i, Hitodenashi
Watashi wo Tabeta-i, Hitodenashi is a TV anime adapted from the manga by Naegawa Sa-i, serialized in “Dengeki Ma-oh” and “Kadokomi.” This beautifully melancholic story explores the profound encounter between a young girl and a yokai. The narrative unfolds as a fresh take on a girl-meets-girl tale, beginning with the fateful meeting of Yaosai Hinako, a girl who yearns for death, and O-mi Shiori, a mermaid who seeks her flesh and blood.

The series is brought to life under the guidance of General Director Kuzutaya Naoyuki and Director Suzuki Yu-suke, with animation production handled by Studio RINGS. The talented cast includes Ueda Reina as Yaosai Hinako, Ishikawa Yu-i as O-mi Shiori, and Fairouz A-i as Yashiro Miko, promising a compelling vocal performance for these unique characters.

Episode 2: “Shayou no Kemono to Matsuribayashi” (The Beast of the Setting Sun and the Festival Music) – Synopsis

“I came here to eat you” — with these chilling words, Shiori transfers to Hinako’s high school. Hinako harbors a sliver of hope that Shiori might finally grant her wish for death. Yet, as Shiori shows no immediate intention of actually eating her, Hinako finds herself increasingly perplexed by the mermaid’s actions.

Why won’t Shiori consume her right away? To this unspoken question, Shiori merely replies with a cryptic hint: “Don’t you think humans have a ‘best before’ date too?” This intriguing statement leaves Hinako to ponder the mermaid’s true intentions and the mysterious fate that awaits her.
