“I came here to eat you” — with these chilling words, Shiori transfers to Hinako’s high school. Hinako harbors a sliver of hope that Shiori might finally grant her wish for death. Yet, as Shiori shows no immediate intention of actually eating her, Hinako finds herself increasingly perplexed by the mermaid’s actions.

Why won’t Shiori consume her right away? To this unspoken question, Shiori merely replies with a cryptic hint: “Don’t you think humans have a ‘best before’ date too?” This intriguing statement leaves Hinako to ponder the mermaid’s true intentions and the mysterious fate that awaits her.
