The “Youkya” Trio Delves Deep into Yoasobi!

The live broadcast on October 5 (Sunday) kicked off with Yashiro Taku-san’s delightful “Kaneda all-affirmation” talk style, where he enthusiastically accepted all of Kaneda Tomoko-san’s unique remarks. When Kaneda-san asked if the number “9” on Yashiro-san’s clothes was because of “Taku” (which sounds like ‘ta-ku’, with ‘ku’ sounding like ‘nine’ in Japanese), Yashiro-san immediately responded, “Correct!”. He further resonated with Kaneda-san, exclaiming, “It really looks like a ‘baku’ now!” when shown an illustration she had drawn and named “baku.” Introducing himself as “Yashiro Taku who loves Sobii,” Yashiro-san even performed an impromptu apology song, “Rhythmically Apologizing,” as a penance for Sobii-san, filling the studio with laughter. Meanwhile, Okamoto Nobuhiko-san, finding himself without a straight man for his usual comedic timing, was left bewildered, exclaiming, “What is this?!” and “Aaaaaah!”, yet the show continued with lively energy.

“Youkya” (陽キャ), meaning cheerful and outgoing individuals, were the focus as the three engaged in various talk segments. In the “Memories with Past Partners” corner, Kaneda-san shared heartwarming growth episodes from her three years co-hosting with Kimura Subaru-san. Shinkei Shijaku” segment, broadcast from Monday to Friday, featured a challenging rule: contestants had 100 minutes to match all 50 types (100 plates total) of luxury sushi pairs. Failure to complete the task meant paying the entire 100,000 yen cost of the sushi out-of-pocket! Okamoto-san was even heard lamenting, “No, no, no! We haven’t signed the contract yet!”, making for a truly hands-on and thrilling Connect Week.
