Get ready for an exciting crossover event! It has been officially announced that a special collaboration anime, titled `Chiko-chan ni Shikarareru! x Ojarumaru Chiko-chan mo Mattari de Ojaru` (which can be translated as “Chiko-chan also Chills Out with Ojaru”), is set to air on NHK E Tele on November 3, 2025. This marks the very first co-starring appearance of Ojarumaru and Chiko-chan, both surprisingly 5-year-olds!
About `Ojarumaru`
`Ojarumaru` is a beloved, long-running TV anime based on the manga by Inumaru Rin, which has captivated audiences on NHK E Tele since its premiere in 1998. The heartwarming story follows Sakanoue Ojarumaru, a young noble from the Heianchou fairy world, who by a twist of fate ends up living in modern-day Gekkou-cho. He moves in with an elementary school student named Kazuma and becomes involved in lively and joyous shenanigans, often drawing in the town’s charmingly eccentric residents.
About `Chiko-chan ni Shikarareru!`
`Chiko-chan ni Shikarareru!` is a popular variety show featuring Chiko-chan, a virtual yet incredibly realistic 5-year-old girl created with cutting-edge technology. Chiko-chan challenges MC Okamura Takashi and various adult guests with everyday questions that most people have never considered, like “Why do we wave goodbye when someone leaves?” The show’s immense popularity comes from its hilarious punchline: if an adult fails to answer one of Chiko-chan’s deceptively simple questions, they are famously scolded with a sharp, “Don’t live life spaced out!”
The Epic Collaboration Begins!
In this special collaboration anime, `Chiko-chan ni Shikarareru! x Ojarumaru Chiko-chan mo Mattari de Ojaru`, the town of Gekkou-cho, where Ojarumaru and his companions reside, becomes the setting for a live recording of `Chiko-chan ni Shikarareru!`. A major highlight of this special episode is the appearance of Chiko-chan herself, alongside Okamura Takashi and Kyoe-chan, all appearing as themselves within the whimsical world of `Ojarumaru`!
But the fun doesn’t stop there! Through an unexpected turn of events, Ojarumaru and Chiko-chan find their minds and bodies swapped! Can Ojarumaru, now in Chiko-chan’s body, and Chiko-chan, inhabiting Ojarumaru’s body, return to their original selves? To shed some light on this challenging scenario, Nishimura Chinami, the talented voice actress who breathes life into Ojarumaru, has shared her thoughts.
Adding to the excitement, Goo Hiromi, the popular singer who performs the ending theme “GO! de Ojaru” for `Ojarumaru`’s 28th season, will also make a special guest appearance as himself in this collaboration anime. Fans are eager to see what kind of role Goo Hiromi-san will play in the world of `Ojarumaru`. Goo Hiromi-san, who made his debut in anime voice acting for this project, has also provided a comment.
Furthermore, Goo Hiromi-san will also appear on `Chiko-chan ni Shikarareru!` on October 31. Get ready to enjoy his playful banter with Chiko-chan! And as a delightful bonus, Ojarumaru himself will make an appearance at the very end of Goo Hiromi-san’s episode. This significant encounter between Chiko-chan and Ojarumaru will set the stage for the special collaboration anime’s storyline, so make sure not to miss any part of the broadcast!

Comments from the Cast

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this collaboration between Ojarumaru and Chiko-chan! While Ojaru and Chiko-chan have completely different personalities, they share a wonderful commonality: they are both curious 5-year-olds, which makes their connection feel so special. And to top it all off, we have a super-special development with Goo Hiromi-san, who is responsible for this season’s ending theme, also joining us! During the voice recording with Chiko-chan, the realization that “Chiko-chan is here in Ojarumaru’s world…” gradually dawned on me, and my excitement soared when I heard Chiko-chan’s iconic lines live.
In this story, Chiko-chan and Ojarumaru swap bodies. Hearing Chiko-chan’s voice coming from Ojarumaru’s face was incredibly strange, and it took some time to get used to. Seeing Chiko-chan’s actions after becoming Ojarumaru made me feel an even greater closeness to her, realizing that she truly is just a normal 5-year-old at heart.
Voice recording with Goo Hiromi-san was also a truly stimulating experience. Goo-san approached the voice recording with remarkable sincerity, and it was evident how much he cherished the world of `Ojarumaru`. He repeatedly delivered lines that far exceeded the director’s expectations, and each time, not only the cast but also all the staff members were incredibly hyped up! He greeted each person by looking them directly in the eye, which truly highlighted Goo-san’s wonderful character as a person. I had a truly precious time working with him.
Now, all that’s left is for everyone to experience this wonderful work, so please look forward to it!

This was my first time challenging myself with anime voice acting. I’m truly grateful for such a valuable opportunity. Surprisingly, it was incredibly difficult to synchronize my lines with the animation once I actually tried it. It made me realize once again just how amazing voice actors are.
The sound director meticulously explained the timing of the lines, which helped me manage to get through it. My animated character turned out incredibly cute, so I hope everyone enjoys watching him!
