Synopsis

Rapunzel (voiced by Nakagawa Shouko) is an inquisitive 18-year-old girl, blessed with extraordinarily long hair imbued with magical healing powers. As a baby, she was kidnapped by Gothel (voiced by Tsurugi Miyuki), who coveted her magical hair. Since then, Rapunzel has been confined to a tall, secluded tower, believing Gothel to be her mother and completely unaware of the world outside. Her greatest dream is to witness the beautiful “lights” that float in the sky every year on her birthday. However, Gothel has always forbidden her from leaving the tower, claiming the outside world is too dangerous.

One day, with her birthday fast approaching, the notorious master thief Flynn Rider (voiced by Hatanaka Hiroshi) stumbles into Rapunzel’s tower. Flynn had just stolen a royal crown with the help of the Stabbington Brothers (voiced by Iijima Hajime), only to be betrayed and pursued by the royal guards, forcing him to seek refuge in the tower. Rapunzel, ever resourceful, confiscates the crown from Flynn and makes him an offer: she will return the crown if he takes her to see the mysterious lights. Reluctantly, Flynn agrees to become Rapunzel’s companion on an adventure that will change both their lives forever…
