About the Original Work: A Detective Story with a Twist

Mata Korosarete Shimatta no desu ne, Tantei-sama is a captivating mystery novel penned by Teniwoha, a multi-talented individual known for creating hit Vocaloid songs like “Villain” and “Gira Gira,” as well as for his work as a novelist, notably with the Jogakusei Tantei Series. The series features beautiful and endearing illustrations by Riichu, celebrated for his delicate art style, notably seen in works like the light novel Hikikomari Kyuuketsuhime no Monmon.

The story follows Oitsuki Sakuya, a high school detective with a peculiar constitution: he “dies and then comes back to life.” Utilizing this unique ability, Sakuya takes on various challenging cases. This fresh approach overturns traditional mystery concepts, earning the series high praise for its innovative premise. Published by “MF Bunko J” since 2021, the latest Volume 6 is eagerly anticipated, set to be released on November 25, 2025.

The Creative Minds Behind the Animation

For this TV anime adaptation, LIDENFILMS will be handling the animation production, under the direction of Naotani Takashi, renowned for his work on anime like Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari, Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy, and the movie Tokumei Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru- ~Yuki no Maki~.

The talented production team also includes Inoue Mio, known for Bukiyou na Senpai., in charge of series composition; Kumada Akiko, from Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai, as character designer; Nemoto Kuniaki, who worked on Gekijouban Shingeki no Kyojin Kanketsu-hen THE LAST ATTACK, as art director; and Yamamoto Miho, recognized for Tokyo Revengers, as photography director. This assembly of skilled creators promises to bring out the maximum charm and essence of the original work.

Meet the Main Cast!

It has been decided that Yasuda Rikuya, known for his roles as Chuu Niba in Chuubyou Gekihatsu Boy and Manza Taishi in Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu HAPPY KISS!, will voice the protagonist, Oitsuki Sakuya. Sakuya is a half-baked high school detective who is the son of a legendary great detective.

The role of Lilithea, Sakuya’s assistant and a young girl residing at the Oitsuki Detective Agency, will be portrayed by Wakayama Shion, who has voiced many popular characters such as Ayase Momo in Dandadan and Inoue Takina in Lycoris Recoil. Both Yasuda-san and Wakayama-san have shared their excitement and comments regarding the TV anime adaptation.

A Glimpse into the Mystery: Teaser Trailer Unveiled

Accompanying the TV anime announcement, a thrilling teaser video has been revealed. The opening scene immediately plunges viewers into the shocking moment where the protagonist, Oitsuki Sakuya, the son of a legendary detective, is murdered by an unknown assailant during an investigation.

However, Sakuya possesses a unique ability: he is revived even after death. As he states, “It seems God wrote the blueprint for my body overnight, half-asleep,” and “I saw the culprit who killed me.” Each time he revives, his assistant, Lilithea, gently welcomes him with a lap pillow, calling out, “You were in eternal slumber. Welcome back. You’ve been killed again, Detective-sama.” As both detective and victim, Sakuya will literally put his life on the line to tackle numerous perplexing cases.
