About WIND BREAKER: From Manga to Anime Sensation
WIND BREAKER is a gripping manga series by Nii Satoru, which first began serialization in Magazine Pocket in 2021. The story follows Sakura Haruka, a solitary high school student whose only skill is fighting. He arrives from out of town, determined to conquer the infamous “Fuurin Koukou,” a school feared as a den of delinquents. However, Sakura soon discovers that the students of Fuurin Koukou have transformed into Bofuurin (also known as WIND BREAKERs), protectors of their town. Initially perplexed, Sakura reluctantly joins the Bofuurin members, diving into battles alongside his new companions to safeguard the town.
Sakura’s journey from a lone wolf to a strong individual who forges unbreakable bonds with his companions, along with the captivating cast of characters surrounding him, quickly garnered immense popularity. The series continued its meteoric rise with a TV anime adaptation in 2024, dominating streaming service charts. Prepare to have your commute taken over by the spirit of Fuurin Koukou! The “WinBre Train” is set to hit the tracks, with character visuals “hijacking” entire train cars. For a limited time, the interiors of these trains will be specially decorated with visuals from the WIND BREAKER movie. The “WinBre Train” will begin operation on the Tokyuu Toyoko Line from November 24, 2025 (Monday/Holiday), and on the Tokyuu Denentoshi Line from November 26 (Wednesday). The train cars will be adorned with bold layouts featuring passionate lines and striking visuals of each character, with posters and scene photos appearing in every available space within the carriages. Story
A man who has lived alone his entire life meets his very first companions—together, they protect people, the town, and their shared ideals. Sakura Haruka, a lonely high school student whose only strength lies in fighting, arrives from outside the town with a single goal: to conquer Fuurin Koukou, a school notorious as a hangout for delinquents. There, Sakura discovers that the students of Fuurin Koukou have transformed into Bofuurin (WIND BREAKERs), protectors dedicated to safeguarding the town. Despite his initial confusion, Sakura joins the Bofuurin members, including Nirei Akihiko, Suou Hayato, and Sugishita Kyoutarou, as he throws himself into battles to defend the town alongside his new friends.
However, when a certain line is crossed, Shishitouren, a fearsome group that believes in absolute power, sets its sights on Bofuurin as its new target! Sakura, who constantly clashes with those around him, having declared, “I will conquer the top alone,” finds his resolve tested when Nirei Akihiko is hurt by the invading Shishitouren. How will Sakura and the Bofuurin face this new threat and protect what they hold dear?
