About Natsume Yuujinchou
Natsume Yuujinchou is a captivating story of yokai and human connections, originating from the manga by Midorikawa Yuki, serialized in Hakusensha’s “LaLa” magazine. The manga series has sold over 18 million copies domestically, a testament to its enduring popularity. It follows the life of Natsume Takashi, a young man who has been able to see yokai since childhood. After inheriting the “Yuujinchou” (Book of Friends) from his grandmother, Reiko, he embarks on a journey to return names to the yokai bound by it, all while accompanied by his self-proclaimed bodyguard, Nyanko-sensei.
The TV anime adaptation began with its first season airing from July to September 2008. The most recent installment, Natsume Yuujinchou Shichi, the seventh season, was broadcast from October to December 2024. Beyond the TV series, fans have also enjoyed the OVA Natsume Yuujinchou Itsuka Yuki no Hi ni, released in February 2014, the movie Gekijouban Natsume Yuujinchou ~Utsusemi ni Musubu~, released in September 2018, and the new anime Natsume Yuujinchou: Ishi Okoshi to Ayashiki Raihousha, which premiered in January 2021 as a limited theatrical release.

The Natsume Yuujinchou Christmas-exclusive “Xmas Pre-Cake 2025” from PRIROLL is priced at 5,670 JPY (tax included) per cake. These are whole cakes, 5-gou size (15cm diameter x 7cm height).
