On November 8th (Saturday) and 9th (Sunday), 2025, the grand festival for female-oriented content, the “Animate Girls Festival (AGF) 2025,” took place over two days in Ikebukuro. AGF is renowned for its immense excitement every year, and this year was no exception, as Ikebukuro was abuzz with energy, primarily centered around Sunshine City. The event brought together a rich variety of “otome-muke content,” including anime, manga, voice actors, otome games, and cosplay. What is AGF?
“Animate Girls Festival (AGF)” is a large-scale event where anime, comics, voice actors, otome games, cosplay, and everything for “otome” gather in one place.
The venue utilizes Tokyo’s Ikebukuro Sunshine City as its main hub, alongside city-wide initiatives and online components. Its unique multi-faceted structure – “event = exhibition booths + stages + Ikebukuro city-wide” – allows each visitor to find their own way to enjoy the festival.
Celebrating its 16th anniversary this year, AGF’s theme is “Peace.” The organizers aim to create a “safe, secure, and peaceful festival where every attendee feels complete and included.”
The total number of visitors, including the main venue (Ikebukuro Sunshine City) and city-wide events, reached a record-breaking 168,775 people. Furthermore, online participants, including viewers of the stage performances held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City Fountain Square (Alpa B1), totaled 350,857, making this the largest-scale event to date.
Booths and Events Galore! Highlights You Don’t Want to Miss ♪
The main venue hosted approximately 200 booths from 90 organizations, extensively spread across multiple areas: “Red AREA,” “Blue AREA (Trading Area),” “Green AREA,” “White AREA,” and “Yellow AREA.” Each booth buzzed with diverse exhibitions, merchandise sales, and interactive experiences, maintaining a lively atmosphere throughout the day. Moreover, AGF2025 offered exclusive limited-edition goods and special giveaways, drawing throngs of fans.

– All Characters Gathered Booth & Major Announcements / Sanrio ‘Fragaria Memories’

At the booth, Flagaria characters and their Lords, adorned in their accolade costumes, welcomed visitors. The spacious area showcased all characters, creating a dazzling space that was a dream come true for fans. A photo spot designed like Hello Kitty’s “throne” was also set up, where fans, many with their plushies in hand, eagerly queued to take commemorative photos.
On the “Fragaria Memories” Special Stage in AGF2025 held on the 9th, it was announced that the first-ever cast live concert, ‘Fragaria Memories CAST LIVE ~ Luminous Moments ~’, would be held, alongside the production of the project’s first smartphone game, ‘Fragaria Memories Color of Wishes’. Expectations for future developments are certainly running high!

This year’s AGF2025 theme was “Magic School.” Upon entering the venue, visitors were greeted by the Karasoni members dressed in unique magical attire at their booth. Inside the booth, a magical system allowed visitors to download digital photos instantly by simply holding their smartphone over a member’s shoulder, offering a truly enchanting experience.

Moreover, “Magical Print Photos” with exclusive event frames were available, allowing fans to take physical photos and digital data home, making for a delightful and lasting memento. Furthermore, attendees had the opportunity to preview and purchase AGF-exclusive merchandise, as well as new items from the radio show “Nakajima Yoshiki & Kajiwara Gakuto no Soniradi!!” featuring the voice actors. The booth was bustling with fans all day, perfectly conveying the excitement and enjoyment of the visitors.
– Voice Actor Content Celebrates Milestone Year with Exclusive Merchandise / ‘RABB!T×PARTY’

While AGF venues are often lined with anime and game characters, the voice actor content booths also garnered significant attention. Among them, “Kindan Shiri Radio,” hosted by Eguchi Takuya and Nishiyama Koutarou, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. The booth featured life-sized panels and a “Kinshiri Lottery” where attendees could win special voice message benefits with their names, allowing visitors to enjoy the unique commemorative atmosphere of this milestone year.
Furthermore, a wide array of popular RABB!T×PARTY content was available, including merchandise related to “Kindan Nama Radio” by Toriumi Kousuke and Yasumoto Hiroki, and items from Yuukoku Roberu. The ikemen actor-training game ‘A3!’ will celebrate its 9th anniversary in January 2026. With the highly anticipated production of its Fifth Part announced in September 2025, fan excitement has soared, and the AGF booth was bustling with activity throughout the day. This AGF featured newly drawn chibi character merchandise with a sports theme, as well as numerous illustration items from “Mankai Treasure,” which garnered significant attention for its stunning visuals.
Reflecting its immense popularity, a long queue continuously formed in front of the booth.
The exhibition area offered a retrospective of ACT4, creating an emotional space where visitors could feel the journey of the story. Furthermore, following the much-talked-about collaboration announcement with ‘BANANA FISH’ in November, related exhibition panels were also installed. The booth was filled with anticipation and enthusiasm, making its future developments truly unmissable.

Additionally, upcoming merchandise was showcased, and a promotional movie for the game was aired, allowing fans to immerse themselves in its rich world. The lineup included ‘Shugo Chara!’ uniform illustration can badges and acrylic cards, as well as ‘Blue Lock’ glitter can badges and BIG acrylic stands, leading to scenes of long queues.

AmuLit, a new brand for consumer titles established by Voltage in 2024, showcased a plethora of original merchandise for popular otome-oriented content such as the ‘even if TEMPEST’ series, ‘Red Bell no Doukoku,’ and ‘Neon Crash -Echoes of the Lost-.’ The entire booth was wrapped with newly drawn illustrations of Anastasia and her companions. What’s more, the standee panels for ‘even if TEMPEST’ and ‘Red Bell no Doukoku’ featured characters that rotated throughout the day, creating an engaging surprise! Many fans paused to photograph their favorite characters, contributing to the lively atmosphere. AGF-exclusive items and pre-sale goods for ‘Neon Crash -Echoes of the Lost-‘ were also available, offering a special experience unique to the venue.

– Life-sized Panels and Merchandise Ignited Fan Excitement at the Booth / coly

coly’s popular content, ‘Stand My Heroes’ and ‘Break My Case,’ enjoyed tremendous success with extensive panel displays and merchandise sales! Both titles featured numerous goods with newly drawn illustrations, attracting a large number of eager fans queuing for purchases, a testament to their high enthusiasm.
At the ‘Stand My Heroes’ booth, life-sized panels depicting the 9th-anniversary visual were on display, with characters rotating at different times. Fans enthusiastically photographed their beloved characters, further heightening anticipation for the 10th anniversary. ‘Break My Case’ also offered life-sized panels and photo opportunities with official mascots, providing a special, venue-exclusive experience.

Both ‘Stand My Heroes,’ celebrating its monumental 10th anniversary in 2026, and ‘Break My Case,’ marking its 2nd anniversary, reaffirmed their status as highly anticipated fan-favorite content with booths that made their future developments absolutely unmissable.
– Take Self-Photos at the Booth! An Ultra-Experiential Booth / PLAVE

PLAVE, the K-POP virtual idol group that debuted in Korea in March 2023, also made an appearance at AGF. The booth featured 3D panels adorned with the visuals from the 2025 PLAVE Asia Tour ‘DASH: Quantum Leap,’ designed to be perfect for striking photos. A listening space was also set up where visitors could experience PLAVE’s music and performances, enjoying their immersive sound with headphones.

What’s more, an “Original Photomatic” booth was installed, allowing visitors to take their own commemorative photos by posting with a specific hashtag! (The PLAVE-themed frames were super cute!) It was a booth that offered fans both interactive fun and a unique sense of occasion.
– First Appearance! Captivating Fans with Newly Drawn Exclusive Goods and Benefits / DeNA

Making its debut at AGF2025, the DeNA booth showcased a full lineup of merchandise from popular titles. Items from ‘Katekyoo Hitman REBORN!’, ‘Tokyo Revengers’, ‘3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei’, ‘Masuda Kousuke Gekijoo Gag Manga Biyori GO’, and ‘Kimi to Koete Koi ni Naru’ were all available. The highlight was the exclusive and pre-sale merchandise featuring newly drawn illustrations, only obtainable at AGF2025.

LicoBiTs, a female-oriented game brand by Broccoli and T’s Creation, also made an appearance. Focusing on the popular otome game ‘Utakata no Yukuronia’ and the new title ‘UN:LOGICAL’ scheduled for release in January 2026, a diverse range of exclusive and pre-sale merchandise was on display.
‘Utakata no Yukuronia’ is such a popular series that a fan disc was released following the main story. At the venue, trading can badges, acrylic stands, and chibi character goods were all available, capturing the attention of devoted fans.
Meanwhile, for ‘UN:LOGICAL,’ even before its release, goods such as can badge sets, photo cards, and acrylic stands were prepared, attracting attention as a sneak preview experience.

And above all, what captivated the eyes of passersby was the life-sized panel display for UN:LOGICAL! Comments like “I love the art style” and “That character is intriguing” were overheard, drawing immense attention from many women.
The Entire City Becomes a Piece of AGF!

Animate Ikebukuro Main Store, as well as street flags and neighboring commercial facilities, were all adorned with AGF decorations, transforming the entire city into a bustling theme park. From standee panel displays of popular characters and kitchen cars to limited-time pop-up shops, the city was filled with attractions that allowed visitors to encounter their favorite characters just by strolling around!
