“Eva”: Shinji, Rei, Asuka’s Words Engraved! “I am me”… Paris Brand Collaboration Elevates A.T. Field into Jewelry
A thrilling first-ever collaboration jewelry collection has been announced, bringing together the iconic anime, Shin Seiki Evangelion, and the prestigious Paris-based French jewelry brand, SERGE THORAVAL. Fans can mark their calendars as these exquisite pieces are set to launch on December 12, 2025, at H.P.FRANCE affiliated stores across Japan and via their official online shop.

Created and directed by the visionary Anno Hideaki, Shin Seiki Evangelion first captivated audiences with its 26-episode TV series back in 1995, followed by acclaimed theatrical films from 1997. Even three decades after its initial broadcast, this masterpiece continues to resonate deeply with a massive and dedicated fanbase worldwide. The anime famously ignited a boom in the Japanese animation industry during the 1990s, with its profound influence often described as a societal phenomenon. It inspired countless subsequent anime productions and set unprecedented sales records for music and video software within the anime business, effectively pioneering the concept of media mix development.
SERGE THORAVAL, founded in 1992 by Serge Thoraval, who was born in Paris in 1962, is a distinguished jewelry brand renowned for its unique blend of artistic expression and raw beauty. The brand’s signature style features poetic designs, often incorporating words and literary quotes meticulously engraved into sterling silver and gold. This is combined with the earthy, powerful texture of hammered metal, a characteristic that has earned it a global following.
While Shin Seiki Evangelion and SERGE THORAVAL might appear to come from vastly different worlds at first glance, they share profound, universal themes such as “inner strength” and “self-dialogue.” It is this quiet, yet powerful, resonance between their philosophies that sparked the creation of this inaugural collaboration jewelry collection.

The collection’s striking designs are the brainchild of Rock Thoraval, the Creative Director for SERGE THORAVAL. When embarking on this project, the paramount challenge was to seamlessly merge the brand’s cherished “powerful message of metal” with the “intricate and symbolic worldview” so central to Shin Seiki Evangelion. This fusion was the very heart of their creative endeavor.

Rock found the key to bridging these two distinct universes in the “A.T. Field,” a crucial element within the anime. The geometric octagonal motif, inspired by the A.T. Field, not only echoes SERGE THORAVAL’s architectural aesthetic but also functions symbolically as a “ring of light” that offers protection to its wearer. By translating this powerful concept into jewelry, a completely new form of expression was born: “wearable protection.”

The collection features three of SERGE THORAVAL’s most emblematic items: rings, bangles, and necklaces. Each piece is meticulously crafted, building upon the brand’s signature frame-shaped designs. They showcase the distinctive warmth of handmade artistry combined with the raw, powerful texture characteristic of hammered metal, resulting in truly unique creations.

A particularly captivating aspect of these pieces is the engraving of poignant words from Ikari Shinji, Ayanami Rei, and Souryuu Asuka Langley—characters who embody the very essence of Shin Seiki Evangelion‘s world. Shinji’s piece bears the inscription, “Et j’ai le droit d’etre ici ! (I have the right to be here!)”; Rei’s reads, “Je suis moi (I am me)”; and Asuka’s features the powerful phrase, “Alors regarde-moi (So look at me).” These phrases were carefully chosen by Rock, reflecting his deep understanding of the series and his personal sensibility. More than just mere ornamentation, these engravings transform the jewelry into a comforting presence, acting like a protective charm that resonates with the wearer’s heart.

The eagerly awaited first collaboration jewelry collection between Shin Seiki Evangelion and SERGE THORAVAL will be available for purchase starting December 12. Each bangle and necklace is priced at 47,300 yen (tax included), while the rings are 39,600 yen (tax included). You can find these exclusive pieces at H.P.FRANCE affiliated stores nationwide and through their official online shop.

Rock Thoraval (SERGE THORAVAL Creative Director)
“Evangelion has been a profoundly special work that has stayed with me since my teenage years. Its complex, philosophical worldview and the fluctuating emotions of its characters captivated me deeply. To have the opportunity to be involved with such a work as a creator now truly feels like a dream come true. The ‘A.T. Field’ naturally emerged as the perfect symbol to connect both of our worlds. By transforming this concept into an everyday object like jewelry, I believe we’ve given birth to a fresh interpretation: ‘wearable protection.’
Moreover, I sense a positive energy in each of the three engraved lines—a gentle encouragement for the wearer. The characters in Evangelion are constantly questioning their self-worth, a struggle that mirrors many of our own daily experiences. My hope is that by wearing these words as jewelry, people might find a small sense of hope.”
