First-Ever Large-Scale Original Exhibition for *Kusuriya no Hitorigoto*
The highly anticipated first large-scale original exhibition for *Kusuriya no Hitorigoto*, titled “Shousetsu Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Gensakuten Doku to Kusuri, Kagaku to Mystery” (which can be translated as “The Apothecary Diaries Original Novel Exhibition: Poison and Medicine, Science and Mystery”), is set to enchant fans from December 5 to 25, 2025, at Space 634 in Tokyo Solamachi. Ahead of its grand opening, a captivating array of original merchandise to be sold at the venue has been unveiled.
About the Phenomenon: *Kusuriya no Hitorigoto*
*Kusuriya no Hitorigoto* is a massively popular mystery-solving entertainment series set in the rear palace (koukyuu), following the sharp-witted young woman `Maomao`, who serves as a “poison tester” and solves various challenging incidents. The series has already surpassed an astounding 40 million copies in circulation. The original light novel series, penned by `Hyuga Natsu`, is currently available up to its 16th volume, and has also inspired two popular manga adaptations from Square Enix and Shogakukan.
The TV anime adaptation, which saw its second season broadcast from January 2025, consistently ranked high on various streaming platforms. Its popularity extends globally, with the series proudly clinching the top spot among numerous action-packed titles in the April 2025 rankings on North America’s premier anime streaming service, Crunchyroll. The recent announcement of a third TV anime season and a theatrical film on October 22, commemorating the second anniversary of the anime’s broadcast, sent ripples of excitement through social media, quickly becoming a trending topic.
A Deeper Dive into the World of Poison, Medicine, Science, and Mystery
This special exhibition, “Shousetsu Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Gensakuten Doku to Kusuri, Kagaku to Mystery,” is being held to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the original novel’s publication. It offers a profound exploration into the richly woven world of the novels, combining `Hyuga Natsu`’s intricate storytelling with `Shino Touko`’s stunning illustrations.
The exhibition promises to delve into the very essence of the work through the fascinating lens of “poison and medicine, science and mystery.” Attendees can look forward to completely new, original episodes crafted specifically for the event, along with never-before-revealed behind-the-scenes stories, all designed to enhance enjoyment of the original novels. This will be the first large-scale exhibition to transform the experience of *Kusuriya no Hitorigoto* from simply “reading” to truly “experiencing.”
Exclusive Exhibition Merchandise Unveiled!
The exhibition will feature a wide array of exclusive original merchandise. Among them is an Acrylic Stand showcasing the key visual, which features `Maomao` and `Jinshi` specially drawn for this event, alongside the exhibition logo. Similarly, a Can Badge set, also utilizing the key visual, highlights designs of both `Maomao` and `Jinshi`.
The Chusen Tenugui (dye-stenciled hand towel) features vibrant illustrations by `Shino Touko`, depicting `Maomao` and `Jinshi` in a graceful dance. Each towel is individually hand-dyed, making it a unique keepsake. Additionally, exquisitely designed Mamezara (small plates) are available, adorned with illustrations that evoke the distinct imagery of `Maomao` and `Jinshi`. These versatile plates can be used for everyday dining or as charming decorative trinket dishes.
