2025 has been another whirlwind year for anime, overflowing with countless TV series, theatrical releases, and original streaming content. As fans, many of us have found ourselves caught up in chasing down new shows and attending exciting events, only to realize that the year is already drawing to a close, with just about a month left!
Following a cherished annual tradition, Anime! Anime! is once again hosting its year-end “Anime! Anime! General Election.” To kick things off, we’re currently conducting a reader survey focused on the “voice actors” who bring these beloved characters to life.
Whether they’ve taken on main character roles, participated in talked-about titles, or shone in stage plays and recitation dramas, we’re asking readers to vote for the “Most Active Voice Actor” who left a lasting impression throughout 2025, and the “Most Recommended Voice Actor” – someone you became a new fan of this year or would personally love to recommend to others. We’re gathering votes for both male and female categories.

Basic information such as gender and age are optional, and you can choose not to answer. Everyone is welcome to participate!
For the voice actor category, we received 267 responses between November 15 and November 27. The gender ratio was approximately 30 percent male and 70 percent female, showing a higher participation from women. In terms of age demographics, about 20 percent were under 19, 40 percent in their 20s, and 20 percent in their 30s.

■Voice Actresses Dominating TV and Film Have Landed in the Ranks!
Before we dive into the top three, let’s showcase some of the incredible talent from the survey’s gallery. These images capture some of the leading figures in the industry, including those who have been exceptionally active and those who have earned the most fervent “oshi” (support) from fans.

Intermediate Results: 1st Place
Taking the current top spot is none other than Hanazawa Kana-san!
Hanazawa-san, who also provisionally ranked first in the “Most Recommended Female Voice Actress” category, has been incredibly busy throughout the year. She’s lent her voice to numerous protagonists and heroines in a diverse range of titles, including Echika Hieda in Your Forma, Mashiro Nakanishi in Mattaku Saikin no Tantei Tokitara, and Sam Young in Let’s Play Quest-Darake no My Life. Her consistent presence at the forefront of so many stories has garnered overwhelming support from readers. One reader commented, “She appears in every kind of work, from new series to sequels, and her number of appearances is just outstanding. Her acting skills, of course, go without saying.” It’s clear that her versatile talent and prolific output have deeply resonated with fans.
Beyond her voice acting roles, Hanazawa-san has also been active as an artist. She performed “Yaren no? Endless,” the opening theme for Ninja to Koroshiya no Futari Gurashi, and her new single “Cipher Cipher” is slated for release on February 18, 2026. Her extensive appearances on TV and radio variety shows further highlight her prominence beyond just voice work, showcasing her multi-faceted career.

Coming in a strong second place is Hayami Saori-san!
Hayami-san also secured a provisional second place in the “Most Recommended Female Voice Actress” survey. Currently, she’s captivating audiences with her portrayals of main characters like Yor Forja in SPYxFAMILY Season 3 and Laina in Mushoku no Eiyuu: Betsu ni Skill nanka Iranakatta n da ga.
Many readers specifically mentioned her powerful performance as Kochou Shinobu in Gekijouban Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou Akaza Sairai (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie – Mugen Castle Arc Chapter 1: Akaza Returns), stating that they were deeply moved and empathized with her character during the intense battle scenes.
Adding to her impressive resume, Hayami-san has taken on numerous narration roles, appearing on programs like “Hodo 1930 Special” and “2025 FNS Kayousai.” Her dedication extends beyond voice acting, as she actively participates in live performances and events, undoubtedly boosting her popularity and votes among fans.

Securing the third spot is Ueda Reina-san!
Ueda-san has been incredibly active across various media platforms. She’s brought to life memorable characters such as Miniskirt Santa in Seishun Buta Yarou wa Santa Claus no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus), Hinao Yaoi in Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi, and Kornal Kousa in Kidou Senshi Gundam Tekketsu no Orphans Urz Hunt – Chiisana Chousensha no Kiseki (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urz Hunt – Traces of a Small Challenger).
Currently, she’s captivating widespread attention for her role as the pivotal character Reze in the highly anticipated theatrical film Chainsaw Man Reze-hen (Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc). Fans have expressed immense enthusiasm, with comments like, “I love all her characters, but this year it’s definitely Reze! I think her popularity has risen even further because of this role.” The movie itself has become a blockbuster hit, surpassing 9 billion yen in box office revenue. Additionally, the inclusion of Ueda-san’s voice from the main story in Yonezu Kenshi-san’s theme song, “IRIS OUT,” also became a hot topic, further solidifying her impact.
It’s worth noting that all three voice actresses in the top three have played crucial roles and made significant contributions in Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba), a franchise that continues to break box office records in Japanese cinema.
In the “Most Active” survey, we see a lineup of voice actresses who have consistently taken on lead roles. It seems that the wider their range of activities, the more opportunities there are for their voices to be heard, and thus their support naturally translates into these impressive rankings. The top spots are still fiercely contested, so every vote counts!
