A Legacy of Armored Warriors
For fans old and new, it’s worth noting the rich history this new series builds upon. The original Yoroiden Samurai Troopers TV anime aired for 39 episodes from 1988 to 1989. It was followed by several sequel OVAs, the last of which was released in 1991. The franchise also began with a manga by Hoshino Ryuuichi and Yatate Hajime, serialized in Comic Bonbon from 1988 to 1989.
