The Manga’s Journey from Page to Screen
The anime adapts the captivating historical drama manga by Tomato Soup. The series first began its serialization in Souffle magazine back in September 2021 and later expanded to a concurrent run in Mystery Bonita as of March 6th of this year. The story has already captivated readers through five compiled volumes, with the latest published by Akita Shoten on April 16.
For international fans, the journey is already underway. Yen Press secured the English license in October 2024 and has been steadily releasing volumes, with the second one hitting shelves on November 25th. This gives plenty of time to catch up on the source material before the anime premieres.

Come July 2026, Tenmaku no Jaadugar will make its broadcast debut on TV Asahi and its network of 24 affiliates as part of the “IMAnimation” programming block, as well as on BS Asahi. The wait will be long, but the revealed staff promises an adaptation worth waiting for.
