About Ansatsu Kyoushitsu
For the uninitiated, Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (which can be translated as Assassination Classroom) is a TV anime based on the manga by Matsuui Yuusei, which was serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump from 2012 to 2016. The story revolves around the bizarre daily life of Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High, dubbed the “assassination classroom,” where all the students are tasked with assassinating their mysterious, super-powered teacher, Korosensei. The original manga has sold over 27 million copies worldwide, captivating a massive fanbase that remains loyal to this day.
The TV anime first aired on Fuji TV and other stations in January 2015, hitting its 10th anniversary in 2025. A commemorative project called “Anime ‘Ansatsu Kyoushitsu’ 10th Anniversary no Jikan” (The Time of the 10th Anniversary) is currently underway, with its third part being the upcoming film Gekijouban “Ansatsu Kyoushitsu” Minna no Jikan, set for release on March 20, 2026.
