What’s This Anime All About?
Shi no Yuugi de Meshi o Kuu. is a story that blends beautiful girls, cosplay, and deadly death games. It’s based on the light novel by Ukai Yuushi and follows a protagonist who lives as a professional in lethal games where survival earns you a cash prize, but even with perfect preparation, death is always on the line. He takes on these challenges under the player name Yuuki. This series snagged the Excellence Award at the “18th MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Award” and ranked #1 in the new works category of “Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024”. Talk about a pedigree!
The TV anime is directed by Ueno Souda with animation production handled by Studio Deen. The voice cast features Miura Chiyuki as Yuuki, and for the girls risking their lives in the “Ghost House” escape game, we have Motomura Reina as Ao, Mizuse Inori as Kane, Satoo Hazuka as Kokuto, Tamura Mutsumi as Kuren, and Kawaguchi Rina as Mon.
Episode 1 “All You Need Is —-” Synopsis
Yuuki wakes up in an unfamiliar bed. His surroundings? A windowless western-style mansion and a classical maid uniform.
He finds five girls who have gathered there before him. They’re still struggling to grasp the situation they’ve been thrown into. Breaking the silence, Yuuki speaks up: “Is this everyone’s first time?”
And with that, the curtain rises on a stage set for a murder game where lives are the wager. (28: GHOST HOUSE)
