FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT Expands to a Full Hour! New Season Lineup and Star Voice Actors Revealed at Grand Presentation
Get ready for more anime on Friday nights! At a special press conference dubbed the “Furanī Daihappyoukai” (Friday Anime Grand Presentation), it was announced that the popular FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT programming block will be expanding from 30 minutes to a full hour.
Known affectionately as “Furanī,” this block is the newest anime slot on Nippon TV and has been airing every Friday at 11:00 PM across 30 network stations since its start in October 2023. It’s brought viewers hit series like Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime), Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End), and Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries).
The big news? The block is splitting into two powerhouse segments: Furanī 2300 at 11:00 PM and the new Furanī 2330 at 11:30 PM. To celebrate, the event featured four leading voice actors from the upcoming season’s shows, who each shared a special “catchphrase” they devised to highlight their series’ appeal.

The stage was graced by stars representing the exciting new lineup. They didn’t just show up; they brought the hype for their respective series with personalized taglines and passionate insights.

Diving into the Hype: Catchphrases and Character Charms
Each actor’s catchphrase gave a unique peek into their show’s soul.
Tanezaki Atsumi, returning as the elven mage Frieren, perfectly captured her series’ reflective and beautiful mood with “The magic that turns boring moments into treasures.” It’s all about finding value in life’s quiet, mundane moments—a core theme of Sousou no Frieren.
Ogasaka Miho brought the laughs for the much-anticipated fourth season of Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken. Her phrase, “That time I got reincarnated and was busier than I thought,” humorously nods at Rimuru’s ever-growing responsibilities as the leader of the Jura Tempest Federation.
For the new series Snowball Earth, Yoshinaga Takuto introduced us to his protagonist with “Tetsuo-speak, explosive birth!” This hints at the unique and likely humorous way his character, Yabusame Tetsuo, views and interacts with the world.
Sekine Akira, starring in the intriguingly titled Kore Kaite Shine, went with a motivating, protagonist-energy tagline: “At a time like this, what would a manga protagonist do…?!” It suggests a story about facing life’s challenges with the gusto and creativity of a comic book hero.
And What Show Would They Promote On?
In a fun aside, the actors were asked what TV programs they’d love to appear on for promotion. Tanezaki chose the comedy talk show Ariyoshi no Kabe, Ogasaka picked the travel show Another Sky, and Yoshinaga named the morning show ZIP!. Sekine Akira even proposed a travel show visiting Izu Ooshima. The entire event was filled with a warm, cheerful atmosphere, overflowing with love for their projects and their own unique personalities.
