A New Dawn for a Classic: Soukou Kihei Votoms Returns After 15 Years
The anime world is buzzing with exciting news! The legendary Soukou Kihei Votoms series is getting its first completely new work in 15 years, titled Soukou Kihei Votoms: Haiiro no Majo (Hexe), set to launch in 2026. The internet has exploded with hype, flooded with voices celebrating the new project, along with comments like “I was taught not to mix these!” and “Did we time-travel back to the 80s?”
The Soukou Kihei Votoms series is a seminal real robot anime from director Yoshikazu Takahashi (the “高” in his name uses the “hashigodaka” character) and studio Sunrise. Starting with the TV series that aired from 1983 to 1984, it has expanded through OVAs, side stories, movies, event screenings, and novels, continuing to be beloved by fans for over 40 years.
