MF Ghost and ANGEL CLOVER Rev Their Engines for a Third Collaboration!

The “New Legend of the Street’s Fastest” series, MF Ghost, is teaming up with the watch brand ANGEL CLOVER for their third collaborative project. The “MF GHOST COLLABORATION 2026 EDITION” watch line is set to launch on February 20, 2026.

For the uninitiated, MF Ghost is the TV anime based on the manga by Shuichi Shigeno, which was serialized in Young Magazine from 2017. Set in the near-future world of the legendary street racing manga Initial D (which also ran in Young Magazine from 1995 to 2013), it depicts the thrilling, real-road car race battles of “MFG”. The story follows protagonist Katagiri Kanaata as he challenges rivals driving the world’s most powerful hypercars—Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris—with his underpowered machine, a Toyota 86GT. Its exciting giant-killing races, high-octane battle scenes, and iconic Eurobeat insert songs have made it a hit both in Japan and internationally. The anime’s 1st Season aired from October to December 2023, followed by the 2nd Season from October to December 2024.

This new collaboration features two models inspired by the two apex rivals: the protagonist Katagiri Kanaata, who uses theory and precise driving to topple the strong competition, and his charismatic rival, Mikhail Beckenbauer, who possesses overwhelming speed and skill. Their quest to become the “fastest on the street” is captured in the robust, sporty design of the popular “TIME CRAFT SOLAR” watch series.

Katagiri Kanaata & His Toyota 86GT

The Katagiri Kanaata model is designed with his Toyota 86GT (later model) as the core inspiration. The essence of this lightweight FR (front-engine, rear-wheel-drive) sports car, which relies on its natural aspiration engine and excels in handling and balance, is condensed into a 40mm diameter case.

The watch is colored in the same Red and Black scheme as the later-model Toyota 86GT. This bold and sharp color combination emphasizes the presence of the speeding car body. The three sub-dials are modeled after the 86GT’s dashboard meters, and the striking car number “86” is placed at the 12 o’clock position. The dial features a pattern reminiscent of the car’s front grill.

The case back features a graphic inspired by the wheel of the 86GT. Along with the MFG and ANGEL CLOVER logos, the BRITZ logo is also engraved here.

It comes with a polished triple-link bracelet. The texture and strength inherent to the metal material evoke a sense of refinement, much like Kanaata’s driving style.

Mikhail Beckenbauer & His Porsche 718 Cayman GTS

The Mikhail Beckenbauer model takes the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS as its inspiration. The allure of this mid-engine machine, equipped with a high-output turbo and boasting world-class speed, is projected onto this timepiece.

The entire dial is filled with an elegant White color, expressing the overwhelming performance and luxury of the car. The sub-dials, rendered in high-contrast Black, are modeled after the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS’s dashboard meters. The use of highly visible Orange for the indicators hints at Beckenbauer’s stoic, performance-driven pursuit of the perfect drive. The index at the 12 o’clock position also represents his race number, “12”.

The case back features a wheel-inspired design, engraved with the MFG and ANGEL CLOVER logos.

This model also features a triple-link bracelet, contributing to its sporty and powerful image.

Both watches are laid out with sub-dials for a 60-minute counter, 1/5-second counter, and 24-hour display. They are equipped with a solar movement, meaning they will keep running as long as they absorb light—just like the racers who keep driving relentlessly toward victory.
