Meitantei Precure! Episode 2: Preview and Story Details Revealed

For the TV anime Meitantei Precure! (which can be translated as Detective Precure!), the synopsis and preview screenshots for episode 2, titled “Tensai Toujou! Sono Na wa Jetto-senpai!” (“A Genius Appears! Her Name is Jet-senpai!”), have been released. The episode is set to begin airing on Sunday, February 8th, 2026.

As the 23rd entry in the Precure series, Meitantei Precure! takes “detectives” as its motif and carries the theme of “see for yourself, feel for yourself, think for yourself, and arrive at the ‘true’ answer.” The story begins when 14-year-old second-year middle schooler Akechi Anna, who lives in Makoto Mirai Town, is guided by the fairy Pochitan—who appears on her birthday—and a pendant in her room, causing her to time-slip from the year 2027 to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets Kobayashi Mikuru, a 14-year-old girl who admires great detectives. However, a incident soon occurs. It seems someone has had something precious stolen from them and is in trouble, and the crime appears to be the work of the phantom thief gang, Phantom. Unable to ignore those in need, Anna and Mikuru transform into the detective Precure, Cure Answer and Cure Mystic, to protect everyone’s smiles through their deductive reasoning. But will Anna ever be able to return to her original time?

Episode 2 “A Genius Appears! Her Name is Jet-senpai!” Synopsis

Shocked to find her home doesn’t exist in the world of 1999, Anna is taken by Mikuru to the Cure-at Detective Agency, where the “senpai of the Detective Precure” is said to be.

A self-proclaimed genius doctor and 222-year-old fairy named Jet appears before the two. She reveals that Pochitan is a “spacetime fairy” and the cause of the time-slip, but he has used up all his power and reverted to a baby form. Jet explains that if Anna and Mikuru can gather many of the “Makoto Jewels” they obtained, Pochitan might return to his original form, and Anna might be able to return to her own world.

The day after Anna and Pochitan spend the night at the detective agency, Mikuru visits again. But in a moment of passing, Pochitan pulls Anna and they dash outside. Following them, Jet also gives chase and they all arrive at a patisserie.

There, they find the writer Kurusu Eriza in distress after losing her favorite glass pen.
