Starting February 10, 2026, this cute confection will be available at approximately 16,400 FamilyMart stores across Japan (excluding some locations) in the chilled sweets corner.

What is mofusand?

mofusand (モフサンド) is the brainchild of illustrator Juno, starring a cast of slightly surreal yet utterly charming cats. These feline friends, like “Same-nyan” (a cat in a shark costume) and “Ebi-nyan” (a cat with a fried shrimp on its head), have won over a massive following both in Japan and internationally through social media platforms like Instagram, X, and LINE stamps. The brand has expanded into various merchandise and corporate collaborations, and since January 7, 2026, an anime series titled “mofusand” has been streaming on YouTube and other platforms.

This new offering is a custard-flavored, cream-filled waffle that turns the waffle’s natural ridges into a perfect frame. The soft, chewy surface is printed with high-resolution illustrations of 10 different cats, each themed around sweet treats. It’s as much a feast for the eyes as it is for the taste buds!
