Sekimachi Kazu Becomes AkaRenjâ! Seki Tomokazu Finally Transforms in the Finale of “Number One Sentai Gojyûjâ”

The Super Sentai Series entry, Number One Sentai Gojyûjâ, reached its conclusion on February 8, 2026. The appearance of veteran voice actor Seki Tomokazu, known for his many roles in the franchise, as an actor in the series became a major talking point.

This work is the 50th-anniversary commemorative series for the Super Sentai franchise. The story follows heroes, modeled after animals and dinosaurs (known as “Kemono/Jyu”) that boast overwhelming popularity with children, as they aim to become the absolute strongest “Number One” team among all Sentai. While the series began with 1975’s Himitsu Sentai Gorenjâ, it has been announced that this series will mark a hiatus for the franchise.

In the final episode, “We are, Number One Sentai Gojyûjâ!”, Seki Tomokazu and other past guest stars gathered and transformed. Seki posted on X (formerly Twitter), “I got to transform in the 50th year! Thank you, Super Sentai!” and “I became AkaRenjâ, dad.” His post was flooded with messages from fans like, “Congratulations on your long-awaited transformation, Seki-san!”, “I was hoping you’d appear in the finale and you did!! (laughs)”, and “Having your dream come true in the final episode of the last Sentai is seriously hot!”

The character Seki played, Sekimachi Kazu, was a Toei producer and the former boss who fired Tono Hoe (GojyûWolf). When Hoe’s wish to “redo the ring competition” was granted, he transformed into the Universe Warrior, AkaRenjâ, and fought alongside the Gojyûjâ.

Seki has appeared in numerous Super Sentai series, starting with 1995’s Chôriki Sentai ÔRenjâ. His roster includes:

Beyond the Super Sentai series, he has also had many roles in the Kamen Rider and Ultraman series. He is even participating as a casting producer for the currently airing, completely original tokusatsu project, BEAT RUNNERS.
Known as a tokusatsu otaku himself, it seems many fans were deeply moved by his passionate transformation and roll call scene in this finale.
