From the film Super Kaguya-hime!, which continues to see media appearances such as the special issue of anan and NHK Radio Buairu!, the second installment of THE FIRST TAKE, “World Is Mine CPK! Remix,” will premiere on May 13, 2026 at 10 PM.
Animation creator Yamashita Seigo, known for his striking opening sequences for major anime like Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1, Chainsaw Man, and Urusei Yatsura, makes his feature directorial debut with the original anime Super Kaguya-hime!, now streaming worldwide exclusively on Netflix.
The film garnered massive attention even before its release, ranking #1 on YouTube’s “Trending Movies” chart upon its teaser trailer and amassing over 15 million total views on social media (as of November 28). After streaming began, it trended on X and Yahoo! Search, and hit #1 on Netflix’s “Top 10 Movies in Japan” the following day. It also ranked highly in multiple regions overseas. In response to overwhelming fan demand, a theatrical release began on February 20. Many screenings sold out immediately, leading to extended runs and expanded theaters, and as of April 20, the film has surpassed 1 million cumulative attendees and ¥2 billion in box office revenue – a momentum that continues to grow.
Now, following the huge response to “ray Super Kaguya-hime! Version” – which drew over 50,000 concurrent viewers during its premiere on the popular YouTube channel THE FIRST TAKE (over 12 million subscribers) and exceeded 3 million views in less than two weeks – the second installment “World Is Mine CPK! Remix” will premiere at 10 PM on Wednesday, May 13. Vocaloid producer ryo (supercell) originally released the classic song “World Is Mine” in 2008, and he personally remixed it for this film, tuning it into a more live-performance-friendly track. Once again, Kaguya voice actress Yuko Natsuyoshi and Yachiyo Tsukimi voice actress Saori Hayami perform the song. The performance begins with a line from Hayami that evokes the film’s story, and the two sing in perfect sync, capturing a live feel despite the tension of a one-shot take.
Natsuyoshi and Hayami commented on this performance: “Since Kaguya and Yachiyo are singing full of energy in the film, I sang hoping that each of our characters would come through,” said Natsuyoshi. “As I sang, I became happier and happier, and I felt that Yachiyo’s feelings while singing with Kaguya must have been rising like this too. I sang while experiencing that moment with a sense of immediacy,” said Hayami.
Additionally, the popular in-game gamer group Black Onyx graces the cover of anan Issue 2495 Special Edition, with Kaguya, Sayo Sakayori, and Yachiyo Tsukimi on the back cover. This issue, featuring cast and staff interviews, goes on sale today. Furthermore, Kaguya will appear as a guest on NHK Radio Buairu!, hosted by popular VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei, on the broadcast of May 16 (Saturday). The film shows no signs of slowing down with these media appearances. Fans can look forward to what surprises come next.
