The official website for Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor: EZY (also known as Patlabor The Mobile Police: EZY) has revealed additional cast members, a new key visual for File 2, and a second trailer. The first installment hit theaters on May 15, while the second installment is scheduled to premiere on August 14.

Directed by Izubuchi Yutaka (RahXephon) at J.C.Staff, the series features composition and script by Itou Kazunori (Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor), character designs by Satou Takamitsu (Satsuriku no Tenshi), and music by Kawai Kenji (Mob Psycho 100).
Originally created by the collective HEADGEAR—which includes Oshii Mamoru, Itou Kazunori, Izubuchi Yutaka, Takada Akemi, and Yuuki Masami—the Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor franchise began with a manga and original video anime in 1988. It later expanded into two OVA series, a television anime, and three movies. The third movie, WXIII Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor, debuted in 2002. A short movie titled Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor: Reboot by animation studio Khara premiered in October 2016.
