Original art themed around “the expressions of Moomin characters full of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure” is used for exclusive items at the 2026 Moomin Market. They will be sold at the “Moomin Market 2026” inside Seibu Fukui Store from May 20 to 31.
“Moomin” is a character created by Finnish author Tove Jansson, known for its round white body. The series, featuring the Moomin family along with the traveler Snufkin, Little My, and other mysterious characters, is beloved worldwide as a fantasy work.
In Japan, the TV anime “Moomin” aired in 1969, and a new TV series “Delightful Moomin Family” was released in 1990. In 2019, the theme park “Moomin Valley Park” opened in Hanno, Saitama Prefecture, allowing visitors to enjoy the world of the work. In the same year, the new CG anime “Moomin Valley Friends” co-produced by Finland and the UK also aired in Japan.
Now, “Moomin Market 2026” has been announced at Seibu Fukui Store. Convenient and cute items such as book covers, mini towels, and eco bags are all lined up, perfect for adding a touch of the carefree Moomin lifestyle to your daily life.
In addition to merchandise sales, there will be a giant Moomin house over 2 meters tall and photo spots. Enjoy Moomin to the fullest through photography and shopping.
During the event, the first 50 customers each day who spend 3,000 yen or more (tax included) on a single receipt will receive an “original can badge.”
