Sanrio character Pompompurin is celebrating 30 years of laid-back charm, and a new collaboration with hat brand CA4LA is giving fans a chance to wear the golden retriever’s adorable face – literally. Two exclusive hat items will be available starting with a pre-order period on May 29, 2026.
Pompompurin has been riding a wave of popularity, recently topping the mid-term rankings of the 2026 Sanrio Character Ranking after placing second in the initial announcement. The character claimed provisional first place in 11 countries and regions, outpacing Cinnamoroll and Pochacco. This collaboration marks the milestone anniversary with specially designed headwear.
The POMPOMPURIN 30th Anniv. × CA4LA FACE HAT (¥39,600) is an all-handmade piece from the CA4LA ATELIER. The hat uses a wool felt base covered with mohair knit, with each facial feature carefully sewn on to create a three-dimensional Pompompurin face. The lining features embroidered illustrations from the original “Team Purin” artwork created for this collaboration.
The POMPOMPURIN 30th Anniv. × CA4LA BERET (¥14,300) is a Basque beret inspired by the hat Pompompurin himself wears. A pin badge of his signature “butt mark” adds a playful touch, while the lining again includes embroidered original illustrations.
Pre-Order and Sample Display Details
Pre-orders will be accepted at the CA4LA online shop from May 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM to June 7 at 11:59 PM. Orders will ship in early September. Cancellations after reservation are not accepted, and orders will close once planned quantities are reached.
Sample displays (not for sale) will be held at select CA4LA stores from May 29 to June 7: Omotesando, LUMINE EST Shinjuku, Sendai PARCO2, Shinsaibashi PARCO, and AMU PLAZA Hakata. Note that the FACE HAT will only be on display at the Omotesando and Shinsaibashi PARCO locations.
General Sale
A general sale will begin on September 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM, exclusively on the CA4LA online shop. Quantities will be very limited due to priority given to pre-orders.
