The hit manga NANA by Yazawa Ai is joining forces with eye makeup brand Love Liner for a special limited-edition collection. Two liquid eyeliners and a mascara, designed to reflect the unique bond between protagonists Nana Osaki and Nana Komatsu (affectionately called Hachi), will roll out in limited quantities from mid-June 2026.
Design Inspired by Nana and Hachi’s Bond
NANA is a defining manga of the Heisei era, following the friendship and daily lives of two young women who share the same name but have contrasting personalities. Love Liner’s philosophy of encouraging everyone to enjoy their own kind of “cute” while staying true to themselves resonated with Nana and Hachi’s style and individuality, leading to this collaboration.
The limited-edition design concept ties into the pair’s special relationship: two hearts that complete each other when placed side by side, referencing Love Liner’s heart motif. Thoughtful details evoking Room 707, the apartment where Nana and Hachi once lived together, are woven into the artwork, capturing the joyful days they shared.
The liquid eyeliner comes in two shades: black for Nana and dark brown for Hachi. The mascara features a cool-and-cute image of Nana and Hachi together. Each product’s bottle and packaging showcase different illustrations, with the fine linework of NANA reproduced in Love Liner’s delicate touch.
