Manga Artist Yabuki Kentarou Opens Personal X Account, Shares To LOVE-Ru and Death Note Illustrations

Manga artist Yabuki Kentarou has opened a new personal (sub) account on X. Posting on May 28, 2026 at 9:00 PM JST, he already amassed over 110,000 followers.

Yabuki is known for his work in Weekly Shounen Jump with series such as BLACK CAT, To LOVE-Ru, Darling in the Franxx (manga adaptation), and Ayakashi Triangle, all of which have been adapted into anime.

His first post included the comment: “I’m thinking of using this account to casually share personal announcements and hobby illustrations.” Along with it, he posted an illustration of Lala from To LOVE-Ru. As of May 29, 2026, that post has over 50,000 likes.

However, a spelling mistake in the post text led him to also share an illustration of L from Death Note (original story by Ooba Tsugumi, art by Obata Takeshi) as a correction. Fans reacted enthusiastically, with comments like:

• “How about drawing more Death Note characters while you’re at it? lol”
