Summer 2026 Anime ‘Iwakoto Senpai no Suisen’ Premieres July 4; Additional Cast and Theme Song Artists Announced

The broadcast start date for the TV anime Iwakoto Senpai no Suisen has been set for Saturday, July 4, 2026. Along with the announcement, the opening and ending theme song artists, as well as additional characters and their voice actors, have been revealed.

Based on the original manga by Shihba Hiroshi, the story first appeared as a one-shot in Shonen Jump+ on March 30, 2020, before beginning serialization in Ultra Jump in March 2021.

Set in 1910s Japan, the narrative follows Iwakoto Kodou, a student at the Army-affiliated Suhou Academy. Under military orders, he investigates paranormal phenomena occurring across the country and recommends individuals with supernatural abilities that could be used for military purposes. The tale blends romance and mystery as Iwakoto encounters strange occurrences and people with diverse backgrounds, striving to save them.

It has been announced that the opening theme will be performed by THE JET BOY BANGERZ, and the ending theme by WOLF HOWL HARMONY. Additionally, two new cast members have been revealed: Sato Gen as Sazame Ruu, and Tokudome Shinnosuke as Awadama Mizuka.

A second-year student at Suhou Academy. He always carries an umbrella; strangely, wherever he goes, rain falls—both indoors and outdoors. He is sensitive to air and humidity, and has a gentle demeanor.

A first-year student at Suhou Academy. He deeply loves Japanese dolls; his four favorites are named Kazumi, Futaba, Mie, and Shiki, which he treasures dearly. He has an affable, easygoing personality and does things at his own pace.
