A major exhibition dedicated to the classic manga Parasyte (Kiseijuu) is set to open in Yokohama this June, featuring over 400 precious original drawings by creator Iwamoto Yoshimi. Titled “Parasyte-ten” (Parasyte Exhibition), the event will run from June 6 to June 21, 2026, at YOKOHAMA COAST in Kanagawa Prefecture.

The exhibition’s key visual and the second and third waves of merchandise have also been unveiled.
Iwamoto Yoshimi originally serialized Parasyte in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine starting in 1990. The story follows alien parasites that invade human bodies, take over their brains, and begin devouring other people. High school student Shinichi Izumi becomes host to a parasite that settles in his right hand, which names itself Migi and begins a strange symbiotic relationship with Shinichi. After the manga concluded in 1995, global cumulative sales surpassed 25 million copies. The series has been adapted into a TV anime (titled Parasyte: The Maxim), live-action films, and a live-action drama. The TV anime aired from October 2014, with Shimazaki Nobunaga as Shinichi Izumi and Hirano Aya as Migi, produced by Madhouse.

The exhibition will showcase the meticulously detailed original drawings, allowing visitors to experience Iwamoto’s powerful brushwork up close.
In celebration of the event, a special display of commemorative colored paper (shikishi) contributed by 25 creators and personalities associated with Parasyte has been announced. Among them is Isayama Hajime, creator of Attack on Titan, along with a host of other notable manga artists and voice actors. The full list includes:
Isayama Hajime / Ishikawa Masayuki / Ishiguro Masakazu / Ueshiba Riichi / Umezawa Shun / Endo Hiroki / Ota Moare / Oku Hiroya / Kumakura Toshitaka / Sakurai Gamon / Sunimura Hiroaki / Takamatsu Misaki / Tsuruma Ikada / PEACH-PIT / Higuchi Asa / Hiramoto Akira / Fujishima Kosuke / Mashima Hiro / Minagawa Ryoji / Yamaguchi Tsubasa / Komura Makoto / Shimazaki Nobunaga / Hirano Aya / Someya Shota / Iwai Yuki (Harai chi).

Merchandise at the venue will be extensive. In addition to standard items like reproduced manuscripts, reproduced original drawings in envelopes, T-shirts, and tote bags, there will be playful unique items such as an acrylic keychain collection and a “Hirokawa Election Towel.”
Furthermore, a book titled Parasyte Exhibition Original Illustrations will be released, featuring the exhibited original drawings printed as-is to preserve the feel of the brushstrokes and manuscript borders, along with congratulatory colored paper from 21 of the contributing artists. The volume is A4 size and 206 pages.

As an entry privilege, visitors will receive a Migi finger puppet (while supplies last). Also not to be missed is the sale of goods from the TV anime Historie, based on the original manga by Iwamoto Yoshimi, which begins airing in January 2027.

The Parasyte Exhibition will be held from June 6 to June 21, 2026, at YOKOHAMA COAST (Asobiru 2F ROOM1, 2-14-9 Takashima, Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa). Opening hours are 10:00–20:00 on weekends and holidays, and 14:00–20:00 on weekdays. Tickets are 2,000 yen in advance and 2,200 yen at the door (both tax included).
