CyberAgent has opened an official website for the television anime adaptation of Tsumuji Yoshimura‘s manga Seibetsu “Mona Lisa” no Kimi e. (also known as Just Like Mona Lisa). The website unveiled a teaser visual and confirmed that Shaft will handle animation production. The main cast and a teaser promotional video are scheduled to be revealed at the AnimagiC 2026 convention on August 1.
Yoshimura began serializing the romance manga on Square Enix’s Gangan Online web magazine in May 2018. The tenth and final compiled volume was released in December 2022. The series has surpassed 1 million copies in circulation.
In September 2023, Comikey and Square Enix licensed the manga for English release. Square Enix published the last two volumes on May 19.
Synopsis
In this world, everyone is born without a defined gender. At age 12, children’s bodies transform to match their desired gender—except for Hinase Arima, who remains unchanged by their 18th birthday. Content with their two childhood friends, Ritsu Kaga and Shiori Takayama, Hinase expects a peaceful final year of high school. But both friends confess their love on the same day, forcing Hinase to confront a choice they never anticipated: whether to become male or female.
