
Production company Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced a short movie project commemorating Sunrise‘s 50th anniversary, titled Mirai e no Kouro (A Voyage Towards the Future).
The project consists of six original 3DCG short films, created by six participating studios including Sunrise itself. The official website has revealed the first two shorts along with their main staff, teaser visuals, and teaser promotional videos.
Haseo Sugoroku
Directed by Hidekazu Ohara (Sweat Punch) at Sunrise. Synopsis: Heian-era Japan. Twilight. A rain-slicked pavilion where three noblemen drink to a chilling secret. There, Ki no Haseo confesses that he played a high-stakes game with a demon to resurrect his late wife. Is it a blessing, or a path to ruin?
Metafear
Directed by Shuhei Morita (Tokyo Ghoul) at Yamato Works, with character and visual designs by Tatsuyuki Tanaka (Buki yo Saraba). Synopsis: A girl tormented by nightmares writes down her dreams and names them, hoping to never forget her fears. But one day, a nightmare she couldn’t name transforms into a monster and spreads across the world, plunging it into chaos.
