The official website for the television anime adaptation of Amara’s light novel Neko to Ryuu (The Cat and the Dragon) announced additional cast, theme song performers, a key visual, and the second promotional video on Friday. The anime is set to premiere on Tokyo MX at 9:00 p.m. on July 4, followed by broadcasts on BS NTV and Yomiuri TV.

Theme Songs
Singer-songwriter suis (Tongari Boushi no Atelier) performs the opening theme “Nekohi,” while the band shallm (Himesama “Goumon” no Jikan desu) performs the ending theme “Tadaima no Basho.” Both songs are previewed in the second promotional video.
Staff
Jin-Gu Oh (Ooi! Tonbo) is directing the anime at OLM. Hirota Mitsutaka (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) handles series composition. Kurakazu Chiaki (Pokemon (2023) animation director) and Nishino Rie (Nanatsu no Taizai: Kamigami no Gekirin) are designing the characters. Obata Takahiro (Yakusoku no Neverland) composes the music.
Light Novel and Manga Origins
Amara began serializing the fantasy light novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September 2013. Takarajimasha started publishing the print version in April 2016, with illustrations by Okuma Mai. The ninth volume was released in November 2025.
A manga adaptation by Sasaki Izumi began serialization on Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Web in September 2017. The 12th volume was released in November 2025, and the 13th volume is scheduled for July 17.
