Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Final ‘Maomao, Jinshi and the Four Seasons’ Visual Features Clover Flower Crowns

The monthly visual series “Maomao, Jinshi and the Four Seasons” for the TV anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries) has released its final installment. The June 2026 visual, themed around white clover (shirotsumekusa), depicts Maomao teaching Jinshi how to weave a flower crown under a vast blue sky. This marks the end of a two-year run that began in July 2024, with new illustrations released every 22nd on “Maomao Day.”

The Kusuriya no Hitorigoto series, which follows the poison-tasting maiden Maomao as she solves mysteries in the imperial court, has surpassed 45 million copies in circulation. The first TV anime season aired from October 2023 to March 2024, followed by a second season from January to July 2025. The third season is set to premiere in October 2026, split into two cours (first cour October 2026, second cour April 2027), and a theatrical film is scheduled for December 2026.

The final visual captures a quiet moment between Maomao and Jinshi as they enjoy the simple pleasure of making flower crowns. The official website is offering PC and smartphone wallpapers featuring this illustration.

To celebrate the release, the official X (formerly Twitter) account is running a follow-and-repost campaign. Five randomly selected participants will receive a card printed with the new visual. Fans can enter by following the official account and reposting the target post.

Starting June 22, a limited LINE mini-app titled “Maomao no Yakusou Techou” (Maomao’s Herb Notebook) has launched. Users can complete quiz and video-watching missions to collect herbs and earn rewards. Additional quests and prizes will be added over time.

Looking ahead, the first-ever event for the series, “TV Anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Special Event ~Natsu no Enyukai 2026~,” will take place on August 15, 2026, at Pacifico Yokohama National Hall. Two performances are scheduled: a daytime show (doors 12:30, start 14:00) and an evening show (doors 17:00, start 18:30). The event will feature cast members including Yuuki Aoi (Maomao), Ootsuka Takeo (Jinshi), Konishi Katsuyuki (Koushun), Tanezaki Atsumi (Gyokuyou-hi), Seto Asami (Shisui / Rouran), Hisano Misaki (Xiaolan), Tachibana Ryuuma (Basen), Toyonaga Toshiyuki (Rahan), as well as insert song artists Oohara Yuiko and Miyake Rimu.
