Summer 2026 Anime ‘Yanisuu’ Cast Satou Takuya, Hoshiki Seina, Takahashi Shinya Gather for Special ABEMA Program on July 4

With the terrestrial TV broadcast of the summer 2026 anime Suupaa no Ura de Yani Suu Futari (abbreviated as Yanisuu) set to begin on July 9, ABEMA will air a special program featuring three main cast members on July 4. The program, titled “『スーパーの裏でヤニ吸うふたり』特別番組～ABEMAの特番で語り合うさんにん～,” will be available for free exclusively on ABEMA.

The anime adapts the popular manga by Jinushi, which originally launched on the author’s Twitter (now X) on March 9, 2022. The first chapter garnered over 280,000 likes, sparking a major buzz. The series now runs in Monthly Big Gangan (published by Square Enix). It won first place in the Web Manga category of the “Next Manga Award 2022,” and as of January 2026, the compiled volumes have surpassed 3 million copies in circulation.

The story follows Sasaki, a weary middle-aged office worker grinding through corporate life. His small pleasures are his daily cigarettes and the cheerful service of Yamada, a female clerk at his usual supermarket. One night, exhausted from work, he heads to the supermarket seeking solace, but Yamada is not there, and he can’t find a place to smoke. Just as he’s feeling dejected, a woman in somewhat eccentric clothing named Tayama calls out to him, “You can smoke here.” Thus begins a series of casual conversations at the smoking area behind the supermarket between Sasaki and Tayama. Their relationship is hard to define in a single word, but together they weave an adult drama.

The special program will thoroughly explain the appeal of the work and its characters ahead of the terrestrial broadcast. As a themed segment, the cast will hold a discussion while holding “cocoa cigarettes” (a candy cigarette product).

To commemorate the special program, a giveaway campaign will be held. To enter, follow the official X accounts for the anime (@yanisuu_anime) and ABEMA Anime (@Anime_ABEMA), then repost the campaign post from ABEMA Anime’s official X account on July 4 (Saturday) by the end of July 11 (Saturday). One winner will receive a poster signed by the cast members of the special program.

Broadcast Schedule

ABEMA is currently streaming an exclusive early distribution version of Yanisuu ahead of the terrestrial broadcast. To celebrate the special program, a free marathon of all 12 episodes will air on July 4 (Saturday) from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, just before the special.

Free Broadcast (Weekly)

Schedule: From June 3, 2025 (Wednesday), episodes will air weekly on Wednesdays to Fridays at 8:30 PM, one episode at a time. After broadcast, free streaming of the aired episodes begins, and all episodes up to the latest broadcast will be available for free until July 10 (Friday) at 12:30 AM.
