The latest installment in the Space Battleship Yamato 2199 series, Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199, began screening its sixth chapter, “Aoi Meikyuu” (Blue Labyrinth), on June 26, 2026. Now, the next and final chapter, “Niji-iro no Rinne” (Rainbow-colored Reincarnation), has been announced to begin screening on October 30, 2026. A teaser visual has also been unveiled.

Yamato yo Towa ni REBEL3199 is the latest work in the Space Battleship Yamato 2199 series, reinterpreting the 1980 third theatrical film Yamato yo Towa ni into a seven-chapter, 26-episode saga. The title “3199” hints at a future a thousand years hence. The mysterious Dezarium and their hidden connection to Earth, as well as the shocking revelations from the previous chapter, continue to expand the story.

The drama deepens as well. Mori Yuki, captured by enemy officer Alphon, and Kodai Susumu, burdened by guilt, face a trial of separation. Sasha, the orphan of Starsha, also becomes deeply involved. Every character acts with conviction, leading to intense battles that question the meaning of the conflict. What does the keyword “REBEL” truly signify?
In “Aoi Meikyuu,” the space battleship Yamato crosses a spacetime node and arrives in Tokyo in 2026—long before the war with Gamilas, on an Earth untouched by planet bombs. If Yamato heads to Gamilas in this era, the future could be changed. The same temptation of “history alteration” that Dezarium pursues unfolds before Domon Ryuusuke. The future where humanity becomes Dezarium, the history of war—all could vanish. Even Yamato and its crew might disappear. But peace would remain. The desire to change tragedy. Under the gaze of red-eyed Sasha, Yamato transforms into black. What awaits at the end of its wake?
